I am having RX Sight lenses implanted. New innovation is lens that has UV protective film at rear of lens making wearing of the UV glasses unnecessary

I have about -6.0 diopter in both eyes.would the light adjustable lens correct correct my vision to 20/20? I see 20/20 with glasses.

Dr. Fenzl replied, from this information (no exam or health background), this lens would work, but wondered if you have cataracts since your vision is 20/20. It can be used for refractive lens exchange, but the expense is then elective and quite high for those patients.

I have very high myopia. I have tried to simulate monovision years ago with contacts and I could not tolerate it. What happens if I try to do this with LAL and again not happy. Should I try it again with contacts?

@@sonogirl12345 what did you decide to do.? I had a similar experience. I really want the LAL done but I'm concerned because I was told that one eye would be for short distance and one eye for long distance vision.

@@paulaweeks4004 my cataracts are not so bad yet so I am holding off. I am currently doing the monovision with contacs and so far it’s pretty good. It’s not 100% perfect, but I can function with daily activities.

Is the LAL appropriate for MD. I am 77. MD has not affected my vision yet.

This is a quote from RxSight safety information, "PREEXISTING MACULAR DISEASE AND CERTAIN EYE CONDITIONS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF COMPLICATIONS. YOUR DOCTOR WILL DETERMINE IF YOU ARE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE LIGHT ADJUSTABLE LENS." Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, the additional diagnostic and laser surgical services, as well as the advanced technology IOLs, are expenses beyond traditional cataract surgery and are not covered by insurance. ESA does offer payment plans.

$10K per eye, or both eyes 10K?

I was told 4,500 per eye

Why is the possible cost never brought up in these youtube videos?
@esaeyecare Жыл бұрын
Mostly because there are many variables especially with insurance. Please know that you'll be made aware of the costs, if you're a candidate, prior to surgery.
@paulaweeks4004 Жыл бұрын
@@esaeyecare I was quoted close $8885 .00 for both eyes and this type of surgery is not covered by the insurance or Medicare.
@esaeyecare Жыл бұрын
@@paulaweeks4004 Medicare and/or insurance typically cover the basic service of cataract surgery although you will be responsible for the usual co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles associated with your insurance. The Advanced Technology options, to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses, are not covered by medical insurance and will be an out of pocket expense to the patient. Those costs vary depending on the option needed/chosen and will be discussed/approved prior to surgery.
