I finally decided to bite the bullet and bought this, Catrice is easily accessible in my country and I have wanted to try a palette from them for a while. So far I like it. With a big collection like mine the individual shades aren't anything unique, but in a palette these make for a nice cohesive colour story. 🤗

I went mental. it sounds like OCD nonsense, but after updating labels for my Kitchen & Art supplies with black-on-white label maker tape, it dawned on me that I could label the ENDS/sides of my cosmetics, so I could stack them on their sides, in repurposed short-sided paper boxes 🎁 . For years, I had stored them that way, but the identical packaging gets tiresome, pulling repetitive tiny black palettes them out to see what they ARE. I thought about it last week & had a bit of a realization: can I have more than one line on a label tape? If I decrease the font down to a 6, it might fit the sides of the narrowest containers. Hey wait! 🤔 Could I get 🌟 silver or gold ink 🌟 on Shiny Black 💭❓ It would be just about the same price, right❓ The label tape arrived & DAMN, if it didn’t work: it looks so damned good, I feel like I’ve actually accomplished something. It was fiddily, it was tedious, it needed sharp scissors; but it IS something you can get into a rhythm doing while watching TV… I don’t have to use a Sharpie to scribble the date onto product paper label, either. I just add ‘XX year to the side description, so I know if I should be using it up quicker. Damn my drawer looks tidy❣️ & it is sooo easy to find everything at a glance. Now I can put things away without feeling like I should just drop it in the bureau bowl, so I can find it again, tomorrow… I can’t believe it took me this long to figure this out & I won’t be wasting anything that ‘got lost’ & expired underneath something else.

Now I’m thinking 🤔 about purpose labelling brushes… 💭 i.e., i wash my brushes consistently & try to use a dry microfibre ‘decontaminating’ cloth, to keep down dust, but I hate it when I accidentally grab a brush & realize the translucent powder has traces of colour of pigment or illumination particles, etc. …

Maybe if I liked or looked good in anything yellow Yellow always reminds me of a fresh corpse, as the blood settles out. I remember when my Grandfather died & he slowly turned yellow, as the blood pooled, the smell in the hospital ward… then crying in the motel bathroom tub as I realized we’d hastily booked a room in a terrible concrete brick hotel that had walls thickly painted the exact shade if yellow My new Husband was a trooper, listening to me cry, my Mum crying in the room next door & shrieking abuse at me… thank gawd he doesn’t gave any special affinity for yellow, because I hadn’t enjoyed it before, & now I have an honest antipathy
