I have oily skin and I actually really love this one! I powder in my oiliest areas but I leave the rest as-is, and what I like is that this foundation gives me a seamless blend - a lot of foundations will pool in my pores or catch on flaky bits from healing blemishes but this one glides over everything and melds with my skin. Throughout the day the coverage fades a bit but overall my skin stays smooth looking (it doesn't fade in obvious patches). And shade 1 is a perfect match for me 😊

Looked really good most often but you want a foundation you can apply and forget about until later that night! Hope you're loving all the snow that recently fell up there. I received this foundation for free in an Influenster box. I was super excited to try it but I have had a lot of trouble making it work! My skin is dry and extra dry right now because of winter. I have to use a ton of moisturizer before hand or else I can’t get it to blend properly, it’ll just get really patchy. I also noticed it sitting on top of my baby hairs and texture when I wasn’t as moisturized. I almost think that it’s too much work for the price. However it does look really nice when I do put in the work. But I’ve got drug store foundations that are way less work for a fraction of the price.

I thought the exact same thing tbh, was looking far too heavy. I now do 2 drops foundation and 2 drops of the ordinary rosehip oil mixed together and then use a dense face brush to stipple and in and does look very pretty.

I haven’t bought a new foundation in a couple years but felt compelled to grab this. I have super oily skin that is now turning true-combo as I approach 30. I have large pores around my nose, this foundation looked terrible on my dry patches but INCREDIBLE on my pores. Totally smoothing. For that reason, I will be figuring out how to make it work!

I don't have this foundation but I have mostly combo skin and I use two different primers on different parts of my face especially in the summer when I need oil control the most and it works really well! Try a really hydrating primer on the dry patches maybe. I use the elf jelly pop dew primer and its AMAZING for my dry patches with every foundation I've tried. Then if I'm really really oily I'll use the elf matte putty primer on my oilier areas. Good luck with the foundation!

Can I just say I love how everything you do is on one channel? Ive watched you for YEARS now and I know for a lot of channels a lot of their audience likes 2 channels (for lifestyle and etc and then a beauty fashion one), but you are someone who doesnt need one because you are so watchable and all your content is interesting. Also you have such a great following base that also loves it all (honestly probably one of the most mature and nicest viewers so I have noticed). This is my favorite foundation. I like to use the Airbrush flawless powder with it and I top it with the setting spray as well. It will not look oily at all. The first time I used it, it made me oily too but if you use the powder and setting spray it’s so much better. This is the only foundation that doesn’t not make my pores stand out and it does not crease on my fine lines/expression lines.

In my opinion, I think it looks fine. The glow looks healthy and not greasy at all. I’m combo oily and many foundations get really slippery looking but good ones won’t also break down but there’s a fine line so I get it. I learned that a tap of translucent powder in the T Zone after primer or in place of it helps with both extra glow and visible breakdowns. This foundation actually last pretty well for me. I have dry skin and it's cold were I'm at for reference. I use Tacha dewy skin cream lotion and then use the ulta brand hydrating primer, this combo works best imo. I've tried other combos but so far this works best.

Hey Taylor! Try the "reverse" method with this foundation; where in this order you moisturize, prime, dust on a little translucent powder, setting spray THEN foundation and setting powder. This might help with longevity.

I completely agree with your review Taylor. I am a few decades older than you, I have normal skin and I mostly use radiant foundations, however, this one makes me look like a glowey mess and I’ve tried it with several different primers, setting sprays etc. What I did find works is when I mix it with a small amount of the NARS soft matte foundation and use mattifying primer- then it’s pretty good. I will use it, however I probably would not re-purchase it. I had really high hopes for this one to begin with.

I have oily skin and I love it! I apply it with my fingers and set it with powder, and it lasts pretty well on me. I've worn this for 8+ hours with periods of mask wearing, and by the end of the day I look oily but not greaseball oily. It does fade a bit but in a very uniform way. I wouldn't say it's oil absorbing but it is oil controlling.

I have lived in NYC my entire life; but when I started to visit my husband’s family in Austin Texas I realized how different our skin can be. I honestly think it is the water we use on the east coast, not just the air. There is more of certain minerals where you are. My skin does so much better here… in fact it’s like I cleared up and glow more… and I made sure it’s not just bc I was consistent with skincare and applied the same at home. I have skin with no natural moisture….I’m going thru chemo right now….it makes my skin extremely dry. Don’t think oily skin would like this….unless you like super dewy. Very affordable and - of course - one of her recommendations! If you apply it with your fingers, it's extra natural and non-sticky. Oh, and I have dry skin as well.

Try wearing a powder foundation instead, if you don't like the feeling of creams on your face. There's lots on the market. I like the Bare Minerals one. It gives a lovely finish, and doesn't look cakey. There are plenty of drug store options that are good too, and a little more med-full coverage ones. Maybe you'll feel more comfortable with that! @@lindatannock I'm in my 50's and I love using a powder foundation. I've used one since HG. Last yr I did try a BB cream (one from Mac) and the W&W tinted hydrator. Out of the 2 I love the way the hydrator along with just a tad of my powder foundation looks on my skin. The hydrator tends to even out my skin tone and I get the amount of coverage I'm looking for with the powder. I'm one who doesn't like the feel of too much on my skin. With the amounts of both products it works and I don't feel a thing... 👍

I live in MA and my skin is acne prone and dry and flaky in my t zone. My face hurt so bad from being dry I used Aquaphor Baby (my daughter's butt cream lol) on my face out of desperation (overnight) and it has brought the moisture back in my skin and resolved the dry flakiness!!! I bought the REN overnight balm and that works alright but the Aquaphor Baby is much more cost effective, works waaaay better, and no new breakouts.

I'm a North East native. Do you use a lot of hyaluronic acid in your skincare? I'm sure you know this, but the idea is it pulls moisture from the air to your skin. Our air is so dry in the winter that there's no moisture to pull, and it ends up pulling it *from your skin*. This stuff is so hyped and no one talks about this aspect (I have to assume this is also true in Arizona heat in the summer, for example?). Anyway, try eliminating that from your skincare and see if things improve.

Oh the lord thank you for remind me this. I totally forgot. I have been using HA for almost two years now and a couple a days ago I started to feel my skin more dry it's really cold at the moment, where I live, now I feel so stupid. Because hello is winter I know how does it works but last winter I wasn't using it so I never realized that using my ha now might be the reason why my skin has been so dry out. I have used it a few times. I have mature skin with oily tzone. It looked good for a few hours....not a full day and got very oily. I used a matte primer on one side, set and used a matte setting spray. I still have some left so will try with a few other matte primers. Im definitely not purchasing since I have better ones or some that perform the same and for the price I dont wanna have to try and make it work

I am 47 normal to dry skin. Loved your review I think your the first I have seen with an honest review about it. 😊 First time trying anything from Charlotte Tilbury. I’m not sure how I feel about it. The first time I put it on was super excited because of all the hype. I wasn’t too impressed I used Milk gripping primer also first time using that with a sponge. Probably wasn’t a good idea it did not set well in my pores. The second time I tried it with tarte timeless primer and benefit poreless my holy grail of mixed primers. Usually I don’t have any problems with those two , it was okay. I used a brush, So I’m still on the fence about it I’m going to try again with a different moisturizer, no primer and no powder.

I have this in 6C, I wish they had a 5C, anyways I have combo oily skin and I experienced this shiny effect when I mixed it with my Armani luminous silk, the 2nd time I tried it I used the benefit poreless primer in my t zone and a hydrating primer everywhere else on my face and it still got slightly shiny but nowhere near as bad as when I mixed it. I'm still playing with it, hope this helps you or anyone else. It's a lovely foundation the shiny factor and not having a warm cool and neutral shade in every number are my only complaints

my skin is reactive, and when I travel I always have skin issues. it might seem bougie but it helps to wash your face with bottled water. water quality changes from location to location, and if the water is hard, high in sulphur, or has tons of chlorine from processing it can mess with your skin.

If you’re looking for a pencil liner I highly recommend the Clio sharp so simple eyeliner. Eyeliner usually transfers on me but this one does not move a wink. Their kill lash mascara is also great, it keeps my lashes curled literally all day.

Taylor, sometimes the heat in our apartments cause a lot of dry skin. Having a humidifier in your bedroom helps.

New England and NYC are SO dry in the winter....that will mess up your skin. Use the heaviest moisturizer your skin will tolerate and good luck. I don't miss it at all.

I’m having the same experience as you. I have dry skin, my only prep underneath is moisturizer. I apply with a damp sponge and it looks beautiful when I first apply. I do very very light setting with elf hd powder. And it looks good for about 3 hours, then starts to look patchy and oily. 😒

I have normal to dry skin and love this foundation. It didn't sit well on primer but looked beautiful on top of moisturizer. Barely smudged on my mask after several hours of wearing it constantly. Hope you will find a way to make it work.
