one way to make Thaeriel the chosen one is to use Kadmos to make a 6-7 mana creature in your deck the chosen one. Thaeriel being the only 6-7 mana creature will become the chosen one and need only one more health buff for path of light to work. but this is just too random(have to get Kadmos in mulligan or pray to draw him at early game), there must be a better way to make a desired card to be the chosen one. Edit: Actually I tested Kadmos and he makes a 6 mana creature the chosen one so it seems it does not work on Thaeriel, unless I did something wrong. maybe they should rework Ilarac to some thing like this : if this creature is in your deck put it in your mulligan, when summoned choose a creature in your deck to be the chosen one, make Illarac 1 mana.

Unfortunately Ilarac can't work right now. Maybe they will add some help to him in the next expansion

i have been testing the new cultists with light....they seem ok but missing something. i used both thaeriels in it recently, 1 game and won. didnt get to play the original thaeriel though but won.

The chosen one doesnt look stong but the unites that power him up are pretty good, i think that if they buff one of those unites and the chosen one can have overkill and blitz the deck would be playable

chosen one is probably the oldest archetype that still just doesn't feel like it's quite there for consistency but i really want to see work!

I tried building a deck around illarac as well. Looks good on paper but it doesn't really work.

Not very consistent deck. I tried a variation of it. Only thing that works consistently in this meta are death decks
