Katie when my boys were little they never touched any of my decor. The only item I put up was my candles when they were lit. When we would go to people's houses my boys never touched any of their decor that was out I never had to worry about that. They always had their own stuff and they are perfectly content with that. So I agree with you 100% You can keep your decor and have children and them not bother it.

I have 4 boys and I have never not put out my decorations for fear that the kids would mess with them. They look at the decor with awe and eventually want to help put out the decorations. We are creating memories! I see pics of people gating off their tree and TV and think it's totally ridiculous, but to each their own! You created a lovely, cozy space as usual 🥰🎄

I promise you it is possible to teach your kids the difference between what is theirs toy wise to be played with and what is not a toy! I had three kids they are grown now but I never had too many issues with them and any decor I had! They learned and there was very little issue! Do what makes your heart happy and you are teaching Brynn not only to respect your things but in turn to respect things at homes of others as well! ❤❤❤

I definitely agree! So many people do not teach their children to leave decor alone and then when they take them to other peoples houses they will not leave their stuff alone. You are doing the right thing. It’s a process but worth the effort .

Beautiful, Katie! I’m Jewish but I still get ideas watching your channel. I love your Christmas decorations and will definitely order the tea lights you bought. I too raised my son to know what to touch and what not to touch. I never had to put away anything. My grandson, who will be three this month, helps me decorate and he put all my many small plush pumpkins on my tables, arranging them so specifically. He was adorable. When my husband asked him what he was doing, he replied, “I’m decorating.” ❤

I love the TV above a TV stand attached to the wall and not above a fireplace.❤ Getting my hubby to build a frame around my TV now.Christmas Ribbon Jenna loves Christmas really helped me. I also have had the hardest time finding a tree topper I like. I finally found a mirrored Bethlehem start that not even a tree topper but it took years. Got mine at ace hardwear of all places.😂

I had four little ones, all around two years apart. I had all my kids decorate with me, and it was fun 😊😊😊😊 for them. Easter, Valentines day, Halloween 🎃 fourth of July etc Christmas 🎄 tree themes. To this day, my grown children love my decor! 🤩🥰🤩🥰 Katie, just keep doing you!

Totally resonated with your comment about no more decor with kids. I swam upstream on this one too. I had a white couch and loveseat in my living room with 3 kids and big husky dogs. It wasn't an issue with precautions. I scotch guarded the upholstery after tearing off the plastic after delivery and and made 2 strict rules, no shoes in the house and no one eats in the living room. Spots happen and that's ok. Because that is what fabric spot remover is for..LoL. Glad you have a sense of humor and keeping it real. We all have messes. Your tree is just beautiful.

I saw the pickle in your tree and had to smile. We always hid the pickle in our tree for the kids to find. Last year I bought my grown kids a pickle for their trees to continue the tradition.

What a beautiful job decorating!!! I loved it all and yes the ribbon in the tree is great. It's so true about walking away from whatever you are decorating and come back with fresh eyes. I also find if I take a picture of it, I can see if it's really what I want. I may not have to change much but it was needed. Especially comparing the two pictures. Everything looks so festive. I love everything. I have that same tea light that you used in your houses. But may I suggest getting the ones that when you turn them on, they stay on for 6 hours then they will shut off by themself and turn On the next day at the same time you turned them on. No remote because I have like 4 remotes and I don’t what candles they go to. Also if you need to replace the button batteries I like to go to Ace Hardware. They have a pack of 12 for like $5. Happy shopping.

🌿 It’s wonderful how you keep everything real! Looking back and having many chats with my daughter, I realize that I was too much of a perfectionist when it came to my holiday decor. I did have fun expressing my artsy and creative side, however I wish that I had been more relaxed about the details. I absolutely love your Christmas decor! And, I agree with you about having children and still being able to have beautiful things at Christmas. One trick that I did with my children is I bought them a small, artificial Christmas tree and their own inexpensive decorations. They were allowed to decorate and redecorate their own tree as much as they wanted, but the deal was, they could not touch the main tree in the living room. The kids loved it, and I never had any problems with them bothering any of the ornaments on the tree.

Love how beautiful it everything looks! Also totally agree with what you said about motherhood and decorating your space for your family. I've never abided by that and it's been working great for me so far. We have a 2 year old girl and I have never had to hide any decor from her with the exception of breakable items that would be unsafe if she were to have an accident playing around them. At a very early age she has learnt to be respectful of her space and to enjoy the beauty of it. Our Christmas tree is already up and she loves the fact that she participated in the decorating and she's proud of it so she doesn't tug at it or ruin any of the ornaments. She also has her own felt Christmas tree stuck to her playroom wall this year. We got if off of Amazon as well. It has little felt ornaments with velcro attachments that she enjoys sticking to the felt tree. So that also keeps her preoccupied and away from our family tree. But even year round there's nothing that I have on my coffee table or otherwise that's within her reach that she ruins. My husband says she's a tiny version of me so much so that she uses coasters for her sippy cup and snack bottles and it's not something we told her she should do. So yes! You can indeed enjoy your home and your family! Looking forward to the rest of your decor and shopping videos for the holidays! 😊

Beautiful! I totally agree, Katie, I love my home decor and taught my children what they could and could not play with. There is no reason why you can't have a beautiful home with kids. If you teach them at home it also helps when they're in other people's homes. My kiddos had their places in which to play freely with all of their toys and such, and knew what they could and could not play with. There were no rooms that were off limits and we all snuggled under cozy blankets to watch movies, play board games and have fun. You just have to teach them. Enjoy your beautiful room for Christmas!❤🎄🎅🤶 I love the baby's tree too! She is precious!!! ❤️

Absolutely beautiful. You did such a nice job. The ribbon looked awesome on the tree. I have been using ribbon in my tree for the last 20 years but I think I am going to change it up this year as I loved how you did yours. My ribbon is skinny, its cool because it changes colors between red and green depending how you turn it. It has gold edges so adding wider gold ribbon would be a nice compliment I think. I also have seen a hack where people take a pipe cleaner and add 3 ornaments and great a grouping. My tree is a bit older and a bit sparse in places so I think that could help fill it out. Brynn is so beautiful. I loved seeing her happy little face when she played with her tree. Thank you for sharing!

Since I've had 4 kids and a bunch of dogs, I got in the habit of putting my tree on a sturdy coffee table. It helps keep ornaments away from swinging tails and excited kids. Love your decorating!!
