Hmm, the Berry Blade not healing looks like a bug - my bet is that the game got confused since you just cleared the wave, and thought that since there are no more enemies, the battle must be over, so there's no need to check for targets to heal anymore - except there WAS actually still the boss wave, it just didn't realize.

I think so, pretty sure it happened in one of his earlier runs and he didn't notice cause the character had a lot of hp anyway

i think it was the explosion the explosion did damage first killing then berry sword didn't do damage = no heal

I think it's a problem where when you kill the enemy with the berry blade it doesn't recognise that there's an ally to be healed. I ran into the same problem when playing myself.

I think it can't use its effect if it over the needed amount of healing and can only do equal or less than the required healing

If you can't find enjoyment in the hobby that's LITERALLY in your name for more than an hour, you legit should see a therapist. There's definitely an interesting dichotomy in having to face your old team in this game - if you do a very heavily unit-focused run your previous team is going to be a real headache to deal with, whereas spell-based runs are going to be easy peasy.

Great episode, hope you keep the series going! Also, as to the forced card choice I agree there should be a skip, but maybe at a different cost? Like you need to pay 25 bling to be able to skip a card - just some amount that doesn't feel too small but also is not do high that you can't ever afford it. That could make it more interesting while not disappointing with forced choice

Mixed reviews on steam. Sad. Apparently the game is 'too hard.' For anyone who got this game and enjoyed it, please leave a positive review. I'd hate to see wildfrost fade into obscurity because people are used to easy games. It isn't even that hard, just insanely complex. When your build gets going, it really gets going. Example: I played a spice deck with the clunker that retains spice--very broken and hilarious. I think people are just not used to the game flow of wildfrost. Some basic concepts like Crowns being pretty much auto-buy from shops might be foreign to new players. Or how vital it is to have frontloaded and scaling damage in your deck. I could go on and on. Slay the spire will always have a special place in my heart, but wildfrost is 100% my second favourite roguelike deckbuilder now. Sidenote: berry blade is definitely bugged. Happened to me as well.

Junk can absolutely target allies, there's a companion that gains frenzy when hit by junk. Not too useful in this case though, it wouldn't trigger smackback and spending a whole action to boost that value by one probably isn't as good as playing, say, a drum.

Late to the game but I think the Berry Blade not healing was due to Bom. I think the Bom triggered with the double damage effect (doing 10 damage and killing the enemy) before the berry blade's damage, so the game says Bom killed the enemy before the blade hit, which means blade did no damage, which means no heal. Edit: Watched it a second time and even the animation when it dies looks like the Bom animation

I think when you noomlin hammered the top slot than berry bladed the bottom slot the time slot the game used was the first action being noomlin for your "front ally" which meant it attempted to heal the dummy over your biji. Just a guess and I am a bit late to getting around and watching the series so maybe someone else answered that already who knows tbh

Then I woke up yesterday, TV on, watching a crazy moment that decided "I live here now and I don't pay rent". I'm guessing (just guessing) for the healing thing with berry blade not working it because you killed the unit and triggered the cutscene death it kinda took you out of battle as it said "no target to heal" and your unit also said "no target to attack" I think it's a bug

The reason the heal didn't work is because the enemy had: - 8 health - 1 double damage - 5 bombs When you damage a unit, it first proc's the debuffs, which would be 5 bombs x2, which is 10 damage - enough to kill the unit before the heal blade is even considered. Like he tried earlier, he could have killed that enemy with a Junk that does 0 damage because the debuffs were enough. So yeah, not a bug, just the order of which damage applies first.

@@saroporoggo debuffs increasing dmg are seperate from dmg of the spell? if the unit had enough health to live through it it would still only heal three? that seems like an odd design but I guess if that is intentional then yeah not a bug If the spell trigger of doing dmg killed the unit, then it checked for if it could do dmg and try and add together what was dmg resulting in 0 dmg calculation or something wouldn't that be a bug(also it said no target for healing)? idk how it is put togeth so idk I also don't know what they want with design to me that seems either unintentional design or really awkward design

My guess for why the life steal card didn’t heal is perhaps that the bonus damage was calculated first. Therefore, the card itself did no damage.

I don't have a good grasp on the clunkmaster class. I don't know how or if I should be managing the junk cards. There are several cards that add them to your hard or utilize them in some way. Can you use these junk related cards and prevent your deck from being overloaded with Junk? Is there possible balance with that kind of deck?

I think the +2 damage charm could have been good on the slapcrackers, allowing for it do to a total of 12 damage, and could have allowed for more trash making cards. I liked how the run played out anyway though, sorry to backseat game a bit.

It is a cost benefit analysis. Editing takes a LOT of time. Hence why people like spiffing brit takes weeks to release a video. Or you can do multiple raw videos per day for the same effort. Retro chose this path and it working for him. He probably enjoys playing and lets playing more than editing.
