In the new Cobra Kai Season 6: ‘Sam LaRusso’ Promo Trailer. I noticed another continuity issue of the details about Sam being a ‘2x All-Valley Finalist’ and Eli ‘training for 6 years’ might be exaggerated to help promote them in these Sekai Taikai trailers. Jon Hurwitz (co-creator) has confirmed all these character S6 promo trailers that are written by Netflix’s social team are ‘non-canon’ which clears up the confusion.

The show offers a fresh perspective on the "Miyagi-verse" through Johnny's eyes. It explores the consequences of unresolved conflict and the complexities of good versus bad. While Johnny and Daniel remain the central characters, the series also features a talented young cast including Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Jacob Bertrand. Familiar faces from the Karate Kid films, like Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, also return.

Miguel was the introductory character, and we all love him for that. And, yes, he is a central character; A CENTRAL, not THE CENTRAL. There are far too many key players in this universe now for there to be one main focal character.

I love the promo’s don’t get me wrong, they are very cool and very badass and I think right now Hawks & Sam’s are my favorite ❤️. Also too what you said about what they’re saying could be things that they actually say to build themselves up for the Seiki Taiki even if some of the things that they say aren’t necessarily true, it’s what’s necessary in order for them to compete and be taken seriously as competitors.

These promo’s won’t be in the show. They aren’t even written by the Cobra Kai team (Jon Hurwitz clarified it on Instagram) These have been written/made by NetFlix’s own social-media team, and it kinda shows. So much info in these promo’s doesn’t add up, almost as if they’ve been written by AI 🤷‍♂️ It also kinda feels like the actors are just reading text from a teleprompter, to be honest. I’m saying this as someone who’s favorite thing on TV IS Cobra Kai! 🥳 I only hope the coming trailer leans more into the dramatic side of things. These promo’s, while fun enough, feels kinda cheap (and they look cheap too) The trailer needs to bring_it full throttle! This last season ain’t just the last season of the show. It’s the season to put a bow on what began 40 years ago! It’s the Avengers: EndGame of the Karate Kid Universe - make us FEEL that 😯 Don’t have it feel like a kids saturday morning Disney-series. This shows final season deserves way more GRAVITY, in terms of its marketing.. But of course, that’s just MY opinion 🤷‍♂️

Agreed. I don't think that these will be in the show either. There's a lot of things that these characters have said that don't make sense to the point where it kind of makes it feel like this is more coming from Boxiest's (I don't know if you've watched his content) "What If" universe then from ours. "What if Eli had trained for 6 yrs instead of 2 yrs", "What if Samantha was a two time All Valley finalist instead of a One Time One & had never stopped training & had been doing Karate for almost 9yrs". These promo's feel like there more from a different Miyagi Verse than ours. I definitely believe that the final trailer will absolutely give us the Crane Kick that we've been long waiting & make these promo's feel like kid stuff. As you said "It's the Avengers End Game of the Karate Kid universe and they need to make us feel that & I firmly believe that they will.
