Beautiful armies and awesome quality all around. Not sure if it’s a mistake but aren’t the Redeemer’s flamers twin-linked? First time he fires them he didn’t reroll the failed wound rolls on the troupe.
@ESOHJD0609094 күн бұрын
Nope. Not twin linked. You get two weapons worth of shots though. (2D6 + 6)

The mounted Troupes and especially the Troupe Leaders were the MVPs of this match by far! The solitaire was such a stinker that it might have been worth giving the new shadowseer a chance.

Yeah Solitaire has taken a hit i think apart from the strat to auto get back up. Troupe are much better now as you say🙂👍😎

Thoughts on the shadowseer and a big block of troupe?
@StorytellerCharm4 күн бұрын
With the infiltrate enhancement, I’m thinking it’s worth it. Definitely getting rid of the Solitaire to make room for something like that.
@ForzaTerra894 күн бұрын
@ don’t get me wrong as a whole I’m happy with all the changes but I was disappointed to see the solitaire go to a 4++ He’s thematically my favourite part of the army, and something I don’t think I could ever bring myself to drop. You think it’s not worth it? I’m torn on whether I give a big troupe of 12 a shadowseer or a troupe master or if I run 2 blocks tbh.
@StorytellerCharm4 күн бұрын
@@ForzaTerra89 I’m pretty sure on taking him out. His profile offensively isn’t enough to justify navigating positioning or cp investments to make him work over other valuable options. Heck, even shadowseer with infiltrate and big blob is just a move block that might survive shooting. I’m comparing EVERYTHING to star weaver+5xtroupe+troupe master. But rule of flavor and cool should be the move over competitive unless that’s your aim.
@ForzaTerra894 күн бұрын
@ yeah. For me it’s a painting project I’d like to get some functional use out of. I have some Drukhari too so I’m also building for reapers wager. I think a troupe master, 5 man squad and starweaver though is going to be in every list I write. May even be a case of how many troupe masters do you bring at 2k in a pure Quins army

Never ever.. spend a cp on re roll.. just accept the dice roll.. never command re-roll EVER.
@calronkeltaran4936 күн бұрын
agree. I will never understand people to CP reroll something except maybe a charge. 90% of the stratagems of any detatchment offer much more value than a CP reroll. seeing so many CP gone for command reroll pains me every time. also bad showcase for clown detatchment when you don't use anything from that detatchment
@GaryP3366 күн бұрын
Cps for vps. If it will allow somthing to survive to score an objective or kill to score an objective then absolutely you should. But just rolling a low damage because you don't like it was low or somthing similar, then yes, absolutely not.

Believe me if you die by one failed save on a 4 up invun you’d best believe I’m taking that coin flip And that’s how my autarch wayleaper somehow tanked a voidravens dark scythes 12 wounds and I somehow made 10 of the saves before reroll
@Naraithlos4 күн бұрын
@ 12 wounds from a voidraven. it only has 6 shots. the wayleaper farms command points. The harlequinns dont. good for you that it worked this one time. I prefer to use my command points that are not down to a 50/50 chance. If your wayleaper is getting shot at by a voidraven bomber, you might wanna change your playstyle with it. Lone operative with a jump pack. shouldnt even be a target tbh

Forgive me.... But I feel as if I must say something, my only aim in mentioning this is the pursuit of fairness, I bear no hate to either of player. There has been a mention many times before about how 'soft competitive' is played on the channel, but that seems to only apply to one of you... I have seen Mike be allowed to take back and change many different things after further thought; especially after advice from you (as he should be in 'soft competitive'), but with Luke, he is extraordinarily hard on himself, and doesn't allow himself to play by 'soft competitive' rules, even in a league match, like in this batrep he didn't allow himself to spend the command point to resurrect the death jester, although I am certain that he would have let Mike do so. Both of them should be well within their right to slightly modify and change what they would do, but only Mike actually does so most of the time, and Luke suffers from his mistakes. Luke constantly aids his opponent and helps him with strategy and figuring out his moves (as he should as a gracious host and in 'soft competitive'), but I rarely see he himself getting any help or aid other than on a few occasions, and has to suffer from his mistakes as a result. In addition, Mike's trademark on the channel is snake eyes, and the green dice seem to have such a bad reputation, but at no fault to Luke, he has frankly the most unlucky rolling I have ever seen... Steve on Play on Tabletop was also unlucky and they made a whole thing of it, but Luke has had droughts of bad luck that I have never seen before and no one seems to mention it. And somehow, Mike ends up with the snake eyes trademark and his dice having a bad reputation. When I watch Luke roll I immediately get worried because I feel as if an absolutely abysmally unlucky roll is coming, and I have to brace myself. Even in this battle report which was going Luke's way so heavily, in the end the bad luck still caught up to him in one way or another, he never escapes it, and yet this is one of the best dice performances I have seen him have in a long time. And finally, when it comes to the interactions on the channel, I have seen Mike and other guests brutally destroy Luke on many occasions with no remorse, absolutely battering him (at no fault of theirs, this is warhammer after all), but when Luke seems to get even a little bit of a lead, he immediately switches focus to what a great threat the opponent is, what units they have, what tactics they can do, while complimenting his opponent thoroughly and aiding him with tactics, almost putting down his own units in order to motivate his opponent. Almost like he welcomes the loss somehow. But when he is losing, he simply accepts it and bears the blow, it is almost too righteous. In this battle report he talks of feeling bad when doing what he did to Mike, when he himself has been plagued by bad dice rolling and Mike destroying him against all odds on numerous occasions. With his own words alone he turns the tide against himself, and almost loses belief in his own models to perform well. Most of the time he talks of what a good job his opponent is doing, and not how well he is doing, even when he is doing exceptionally, and his opponent has almost no chance of coming back, and even then he still talks as if his opponent is a superior position. And I know it is to motivate the other player and be a good host, but at some point it is at the detriment of your own forces and more importantly.... yourself. I have never, NEVER, seen Luke get a clear-cut, calm, collected win before, there is always some hiccup where his dice turn for the worst, or his opponent has a surge and defies statistically impossible odds.... something always happens, and I feel terrible for him watching it. He always cares about other people that come on his channel, and I could be very wrong about this, but he doesn't seem to care for himself. The only time I see him truly let loose on occasion is when he is playing with James. Its almost like he talks himself out of winning - or most of the time - coming back from a losing position that he is in. I know this is unfair to say, and probably very wrong, and at least to some extent attributed to amazing sportsmanship, and being a gracious host, but he does everything he can to lose seemingly... I don't know how else to put it.... There is nothing ever really wrong tactically, he always does everything he can to win in that respect, but when it comes to luck, chance and key moments, they are almost never on his side. Im sorry, but I felt I had to say something, I have been holding it in since I first watched this channels battle reports years ago, and I feel as if it has only escalated in that time, I cannot watch someone who seems to have such great sportsmanship on the tabletop, be cheated out of what he only offers others freely; and therefore has every right to have... I must stress that this is at no fault to Mike or any other person on the channel; they have all been (at least I believe to be) good, kind, sportsmen. This is a massive weight off my chest, and if I am wrong on any account I will gladly concede it and please do correct me, if for no other reason, I am happy to simply get it out, I only want to see what is best for the channel and what is best for its players, and if I am wrong in pursuit of that, I will gladly accept it.

WRT solitare: you can't slow roll, and retrospectively use a cp. You were alive, then dead, then passed a save. This means if you cp the second roll you survive. You can't do that. But it does mean that technically you had the cp spare to bring him back to life lol😊
