The 3 things that I take away from everything I hear and see about Cold Steel 1.BIG on safety 2. unapolegetic about knifes that can be used for self defense 3. a boss that really stands behind his products. I like that.
@ibj3
@ibj3 4 жыл бұрын
I never use knifes for self defence rather have pepper spray or a firearm but other than self def these knifes are really good. People always used to hate cold steel products and try to lure you away to other brands but i always liked cold steel products even their pepper spray was awesome they sure know how to make good quiality products and i'm happy to be their costomer.

@@zdub8438 It was my fault every time I've ever cut myself with a knife. I think some of that is because I use my Code 4 from Cold Steel for almost everything. No telling what could happen if I spent the same money on a flimsier knife.
@phillipnunya6793
@phillipnunya6793 4 жыл бұрын
@@zdub8438 Using your knife won't be a problem unless you managed to round the point and edge so much that you have a fancy folding butter knife. If you already carry two knives for different purposes, just carry a small pocket knife and an easily drawn dagger of some sort. Also, sharpening is very easy. I would take an average knife over one of those flimsy box cutters any day.

I was camping with my brothers, and we hiking along a ridge. The ground gave out and i slid down. As i was going my right foot got caught between a down tree branch and a rock, I kept falling and ripped all the connective tissue in my ankle. Used the shove to pry my foot out and make a splint. It didn't help i ended up crawling several miles back to the car. As a side note becuz i was crawling i had ticks all over me and ended up getting treat for lyme disease LOL. I now have 2 plastic bolts in my right ankle. Took 6 months after surgery to walk again.

If you ever need a tough knife that gets the job done no matter what you put it through. Cold Steel is the way to go. I love that they're using S35VN now. As from what I have researched on KZbin it is one of the strongest heavy used folders out there. I can tell by looking at the knife that it is going to work for me as it has all the many different thing I am looking for in a knife. I own many different type of knives and different makers for all the different type of uses I have from work & EDC to wood craft and self defense and this knife looks like it could do a pretty good job at any one & all of those tasks.

Look at this line up, and tell me Lynn doesn't give a damn. He spares costs in only the most necessary of places, and puts the money where it counts. He makes wonderful knives for the everyday working man, and puts tons of thought into safety and function, and makes the products affordable for damn near everyone. People can talk smack because of the larger than life image he projects, and the very agressive marketing tactics, but Cold Steel fills a role in the knife making world that would leave a gaping void if they weren't around anymore. I support Lynn Thompson, and I think I always will. Also, if you arent aware of this, he has done some amazingly selfless and charitable things, and doesn't ask for credit or recognition. It's genuine.

I still like Cold Steel, however I had an issue actually brought up in this video about failed locks. Back in the very late 90s I bought a 4 inch Voyager Tanto. I was using it to poke a hole in a large cardboard barrel ( the kind we received wire spools in) and unfortunately the lock failed, cut the tip of my thumb off , juat up to the bone and halfway through my index finger. I just sharpened it the night before so I'm guessing that's why it did so much damage. Anyway, I have steered clear of any lock back folder ever since. I did contact Cold Steel , they asked me to send them the knife to check it, however I had a lot of reservations about sending the knife in as, once it's gone it's gone and so is my proof. I cleaned the knife and put it back in its box and wrapper and still have this knife today. I wouldn't ever use it, but I still have it as a reminder. Yes I'm well aware of Cold steel redesigning the lock to the new version of Axis, but once biting twice shy. I still have an original 7 inch Cold steel Recon Tanto that I swear by and was my go to bush knife for 20 years or so.

Great video... this gentleman is a class act. I don’t have any of his knives, but will be picking one up. He speaks to the average man that may not have his knowledge, but can relate. Hope to see more videos with him in it.

I EDC an Ultimate Hunter. Cold steel makes huge knives and sometimes that’s not for everyone. But there’s something reassuring about carrying a huge folder. I love cold steel.

Most of us are looking at a knife with the opening of another knife box in mind, Lynn is looking at his knives as to how he can inflict the most damage on a human.

For me, cold steel delivers undeniable quality and safety, attractive and sturdy designs and they offer them at reasonable prices both high and low. I just ordered the 4 max scout and the sr1 lite, 130 bucks for both, you really cannot beat the quality to price ratio there. You get a whole lot for your money and i love how Mr. Thompson stands by his product 100% of the way. He even goes as far as to prove the quality by testing them and posting the videos, really amazing and it is entertaining!

I have the kudo with the lock and it's a great little knife. Used to attack my keys to it so they could hang out of the pocket for easy access.

"This one is featherweight. Most of our knives come with a lanyard hole that allows them to be easily retrieved from the murky depths in their regular service as boat anchors. This one doesn't need a windlass to pluck it from your pocket. We still advise avoiding deep water, though."

Lovely Cold Steel knives on that table! I did buy a 4Max Scout and SR1 Lite Tanto. I was looking at a Voyager Kris folder, but I bought the Voyager XL Tanto, Voyager Large and XL Drop Point folders instead.

I am a huge fan of the tri-ad lock and cold steel in general. I have purchased quite a few cold steel folders over the last month. Just recently picked up the 4-max and air lite. Now I have to get the 1911 and Kris voyager. It’s about time for some more fixed blades.
