Since the end of Artsakh and following Pashinyans strategy, I cant help but think of Haile Selassie in the 1930s and 1940s when he appealed to the League of Nations for justice and peace. Then theres the motto միայն զէնքով կա Հայոց փրկության from the genocide generation.

@armeniandiaspora2914 He was at many European royal events, politically had great relationships, and who knows what else before the Derg. And yet against the Italians and communists, no support. Armenia went through the same from 1980 through 1923. At least Ethiopia recovered. Sadly, this is NOT a lesson for Armenia or Ethiopia, but the rest of the world.

Nikol Pashinyan told the Armenian people that if you betray Artsakh and rely on the Rome statue and the ICC Armenia would be saved. Now Nikol is removing all interactions in the ICC and ICJ in regard to Artsakh and telling Armenians that if they will surrender Tavush they will live at peace with the Turks. All to hold onto his political seat and after he stirred up populism by saying, "Artsakh is Armenia" before the war.

If Armenians can accept Nikol Pashinyan as leader, they can also accept statelessness. These words are too kind and far too late for how absolutely horrific the situation is. A people who cannot take responsibility for their actions and decisions, betray their kinsmen, history and culture, reality is not kind to. What Armenia needed was a Vazgen, but instead he was killed and Armenians accepted his opposite.

Pashinyan can't step aside right now he's got to finish his term and start another ,compared to the last two administrations, corruption is down and the economy is up. Pashinyan needs to lead this country into an independent military country. A state that's capable of defending all of its borders as well as its customs and immigration. Civil contract party has done a tremendous amount of infrastructure work with plenty more planned for the future. Bottom line: Pashinyan is Armenians best choice.

The EU is not a military alliance, it is a political and economic alliance. NATO is a military alliance and the Iranians, Turks and Russians will never allow Armenia to become a NATO partner. ALL of the literature coming from the EU is advocating for further western integration via Turkish imports and the eventual connection to Turk stream(Turkish gas). These are frankly very important facts to introduce into this patently childish and illiterate conversation that Armenians have amongst themselves. Armenian lala land.

Land locked Armenia, a Turkish proverb says “aşağı tükürsen sakal, yukarı tükürsen bıyık”. Anladın? That’s the state of your nation. I’ve said it before and will say it again, Pashinyan is your only wake-up call from delusions. There is no way out but Turkiye. It’s your home, where you belong and you know it. The Anatolian peninsula is so precious, so valuable that only a nation strong enough could hold on to it. This is the geopolitical reality. If Turkiye with its 85 million people wasn’t strong enough; with Russia, Iran and European powers next door salivating and coveting, it would have been wrestled out of their hands long ago. What I’m saying is those nations will never let a nation of 10 million Greeks or 3 million Armenians own it. Russia would be the first to pounce. They would pounce on it before you can roll a lahmacun. UK, Germany, France will never accept Anatolia and Istanbul straights in Russian hands vice versa. It would start a new world war. They know this , look at what happened after Turkish withdrawal from Balkans and Middle East. It ushered in two world wars. For 700 years Turks have been the pivot that balanced all powers in the region. As soon as they move out, others move in and fight each other. Better in Turkish hands than to fight amongst major powers is the status quo. This is the reality, best to accept it. No you will never realize greater Armenia, no Turks don’t want to exterminate you. They want unobstructed access, relations and trade with Central Asia, and you want unobstructed access to ancestral lands. Pashinyan knows the only sound path is by reconciling with Turkiye. Any other claims, scenarios are nothing but snake oil salesman’s pitch. Don’t waste time, time to come back in to the fold.

@@EricTamrazian15Turks? Oh I see it’s Turks now is it? What happened to 30% Kurds, 10% Hamshentsis, 20% Greeks and Turkified Armenians. Didn’t you say Ottomans were only 20%, Turkishness was big hot air. Why did you delete your previous reply? You see this is the game you guys play, but I’ll answer your question anyway. Did Turks who only make up 20% of the population (according to your estimation) commit the Armenian genocide? Let’s find out! Tell Pashinyan to declassify and open all the Armenian archives and to meet the Turks at The Hague. Let’s ask Russia and the French to bring their archives too. Some forensics would help also to determine what document is original what is forgery, who were the eyewitnesses and reporters. Were they really unbiased reporters or government agents in disguise fabricating a narrative? Let the case be judged in international tribunal. I know you’re bent on the idea it was a genocide, I have heard the horror stories, some of them relating to what the Armenians endured. Especially the ones relating to Limp Hasan of Giresun. Yes, there were localized vigilante style events that took place which would amount to war crimes. If you know anything about rural Turkiye, then you know whole families, for generations, butcher each other over one neighbors cow coming into another, or cousins fighting over land disputes. Eastern Turkiye used to be very feudal, to a lesser amount even now. There were whole villages at war with each other where the government even had to step in to stop the killings on both sides. Turks inflict atrocities upon each other everyday, Armenians are not treated any special. If a man who was away for 6 years serving his term in the ottoman Army returns to his home only to find out his village is no more and his whole family is slaughtered, his first question is going to be who did it and which way did they go? I don’t think he is going to be discriminate when he catches up with the fleeing Armenians either. Have you ever seen an enraged Turk, Kurd, Arab? They don’t need government orders to commit their crimes. Taking matters in to their own hands is a national sport in Turkiye, even to this day let alone 1915. But in this case my grandma vs your grandma stories are not going to cut it. If I’ve learned one thing during the Erdogan years; people whom the history books had once claimed to be traitors turned out to be heroes, heroes turned out traitors. Erdogan made it easy and free for people to break out of the dogmatic curriculum in schools. Even Ataturk, who is protected by law against disrespect, is getting his fare share of criticism in the public. Turks are more free and brave to discuss anything at the moment. So anything can happen when the truth comes out. Armenians should also brace themselves for the truth and break out of their dogma. What comes out during fact finding missions might go totally against your beliefs and surprise you.

@@EricTamrazian15Turks? So it’s “did the Turks commit genocide “ now, huh? What happened to Turks only make 20% of the Ottoman population, 30 % Kurds, Hamshentsis, Turkified Armenians, Greeks? Why is your previous reply deleted? Did you box yourself in with your own argument? This is the main reason Armenia won’t meet the Turks in a court room. The Armenian genocide issue as it stands today since it’s inception is a political matter for Armenia, not a legal one. They can buy enough influence via political “contributions” to push their narrative and congressman are happy to milk the Armenians, echo their narrative and drag it out as long as they can. It’s a cash cow. Just watch US congress members stance on what’s going on next door East of Egypt, and you get an understanding of what money and influence will make people do and say. Courts on the other hand requires facts and documentation. Short answer to your question is let’s find out. Come to The Hague, Bring the Russians, French and British with you with all their archives and duke it out in Court. Allow all documents to go through forensic screening for authenticity, cross check all eye witnesses to see if they were really neutral observers or agents pushing a narrative. None of them maybe alive today, but unclassified documents, wires and cables will shed a light.
