We live in a country where, for their own personal interests, those in power can go to any lengths and not even spare the supreme document. As a law student, I was always told that amending the constitution is not easy, as it requires a two-thirds majority, which is difficult to achieve. It must have the consensus of all stakeholders and be for the welfare of the public. It is saddening that the constitution can be amended so easily, and they seem to know very well how to secure the necessary numbers for such amendments. This proposal clearly shows that it is not about judicial reforms but is instead designed to undermine them. It is controversial and will remain so because we follow a common law system, not a civil law system. Constitutional courts are effective in countries where the legal system is based on civil law. Creating constitutional courts here would be pointless. Instead of resolving constitutional issues, it would likely make matters worse because the executive branch would continue to control the process. Appointments would not be independent, and the courts would be subordinate to the executive. What is the point of creating another forum? Why not improve the existing ones? We live in a country where everything is planned and designed to serve only those in power. Let the subjects suffer, as long as those in power remain in heaven-nothing else matters.

The government wants to extend the CJP Q. Essa tenure as CJP but apparently JUI-F is not willing to do so they proposed to make constitutional court and appoint Q. Essa as his head chief. This will be the win win situation for the PMLN led coalition After detailed reserve seats order, the government will challenge it in the Constitutional court. There are also some speculations that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah poses a threat to the government in the cases of the tribunal and rigging elections. As in the words of a few journalists CJP Q. Essa is the guarantor for the existence of the government so they will try their best to fit him in some powerful positions. COAS is as important for the government as the CJP is, so in the constitution amendment his extension is also proposed.

Judiciary, main tier to espouse justice and equality is deemed to tweaking due to multiple constitutional amendments in the supreme statuary body. Undoubtedly, since the inception of Pakistan, it has been underwent innumerable changes to facilitate the political giants and military establishment which has raised the concerns of the legitimacy of constitutional framework sometimes making it constitutional oligarchy and later constitutional autocracy. More importantly this recent upheaval in the constitution paying the way to undermine the informed democracy . Additionally, making superior bodies is not the pragmatic approach to adhere justice . In fact making efficient and accountable the established institutions is the remedy to upgrade the independence of judiciary.

Constitutional amendment is not favourable for citizens because All the big seats and taxes are given to higher authorities already. Why age of 68 for only judges not for teacher ?
