Much improved over the original Wrangler as you say. I would still spend the extra money for the Single Six however. I purchased the latter in 1973 and have put tens of thousands of rounds through it with zero problems. Still one of my personal favorites. Thanks for the very well done reviews on all of the pistols.

I just bought one and reading the manual that came with it, Ruger clearly states that this particular. 22 rimfire is safe to dry fire.

I like the Diamondback better because of the swing out cylinder making it easier to load and the push rod ejector, making it easier to eject the empty brass. Less $ too. I would like an adjustable rear sight though.

And it holds more, so you don't need to reload as soon

I really like the original Wranglers, I expect to like this one too.

The thing this has over the Diamondback and the original Wrangler (and Heritage for that matter) is that it's a steel frame instead of a zinc alloy. That means it's legal for us Minnesotan folks!

@matthewjohnson2428 and it's not a piece of shit made by taurus! Which both the heritage and the diamondback are, hence all the problems with both revolvers!

What he said... I've had mine out, twice, using the WMR cylinder. Performs flawlessly. Would not mind having fiber optic sights on the front blade, and cream on top on the rear sight. Something I think Ruger should consider, despite an increase in price point. Maybe as an optional feature.

Nice video! This revolver is super high quality. I own 4 of the original and now 3 of these. I love them all. I also own 6 taurus rough riders and one heritage rough rider. The taurus are horrible! The heritage is amazing. The Ruger is top notch quality, customer service, and the revolver will far out last me. If you want a revolver that actually shoots any ammo you put in it without fail, top notch customer service and a top quality revolver, get this revolver period!

It's about time Ruger made a 22 revolver that could use both the 22lr and the 22 magnum. Heritage has been eating their lunch.

I've had a few of those "convertible cylinder" pistols (various manufactures) and I find that: 1 22 mag is expensive! almost as much as 223 and 2: the barrels are sized for the larger 22 mag bullet (.224 vs .223) and tend to be not very accurate with 22LR. My conclusion, just buy a 22LR, unless you really want/ need a 22 Mag for some reason, and can afford to shoot those most of the time ;)

I hope they are more accurate than in this demo. I would expect groups like that at 25 metres.

I just took mine out for the first time yesterday and was doing about 2 inch groups at 10 yards and landed 11 out of 12 shots at 35 yards on an 8" steel plate with Federal Auto Match. Shoots like a laser

Nothing has beat The Original SA/DA. Hi-Standard Double-9...Yet. certainly NOT the SA/DA Sidekick .22 magnum ammo costs TOO DAMN much. More than 9mm now. Plus, .22LR is for affordable PLINKING. Heritage Quality Control is pretty iffy BUT if you have to have a single action save your $$$ and buy one for 104 to 111 bux right now in a wide variety of barrel lengths. You can always pruchase a magnum cylinder for 30 bux extra although there's a "deal" on a byrd handle grip 3 inch Rough Rider with both cylinder included for 149 to 160. I bought a basic Heritage model with a 6.5 inch barrel fir 109 bux with a 25 buck rebate last year at one store, the got a Rossi RS22 10 rd SemiAuto Rifle for 114 plus tax at another store a half mile away. The RS22 is alot of fun. My point is, don't pay 300 bux for something like this OR the Sidekick. Pay 219 for a Keltec P17 (3 16 rd mags, threaded barrel, 14 oz loaded,) "usable backup deep conceal edc" or a Taurus TX 22 for around $289.00... You can buy a budget 9mm from Buffalo Cartridge (BRG 9) , a Tisas 9mm, a Taurus G3C, and sometimes even a Stoeger 9mm for 199 to 249 and have a useful Self Defense weapon with AGAIN, much more double action STOPPING POWER with much cheaper ammo than .22wmr. If you need a revolver, a RIA sa/da 6 shot M206 or M200 is only about 229 to 269 now in both 2 inch and 4 inch barrels. These are 1950's 19 dollar pop guns of the 1950's that they make you pay 300 for now. Waste of $$$

Does anyone else find that gun to be exceptionally ugly? Between the coating and the big chunky front sight it is very unseemly.

No worries. The Ruger Super Wrangler comes in 3 colors, Black-Bronze-Silver Cerakote, all with Black cylinders.

I think it looks pretty good especially the black one with stag horn grips put on it. I’m not a purist I get that a lot of people don’t like adjustable sights on cowboy pistols

Did the original wrangler have a cold hammer forged barrel? Looks like the 22lr cylinder has a extra line on the front of it.
@DisHammerhand
@DisHammerhand Жыл бұрын
@@zsirrr Yes it does. Maybe they put the extra line on the 22lr cylinder so people can tell that one fits the Super Wrangler.
