@jcshobbiesandrecreation5873 Жыл бұрын
Mike, You're absolutely correct. Just a few years back you could walk into any dealership and buy the hottest car the brand made and drive off the lot for under sticker price. In my lifetime I've owned about 30 cars including some of the really desirable models and I have never paid anywhere near the sticker on anything. The key as you know is shopping around. When I bought my Scat Pack Wide Body, dealers were asking 10K over. I found a dealer that was selling everything at 1% over invoice which amounted to about $5600 off the sticker. Same with the Raptor we just picked up. Dealers in my area were asking $10 to $30K over. We picked it up for $2K under sticker by driving to TN.

The two cars that went over MSRP back in the 80s was the GNX in 1987 as I try to buy one couldn't justify the price and the other the 1989 20th Anniversary trans- am try to buy that one too with the same results so you say pretty much the specialty cars are always going to be specially priced!!!

You are absolutely right, years ago you could go purchase a vehicle without worrying about the high markup prices other than the dealerships stupidly cheap “upgrade options” that they charge way too much for. Which is why I feel dealerships should lose all of their allocations when they sale their inventory over MSRP. I’m sorry to say but the MSRP prices are already set high enough for dealerships to make more than enough money yet they seem to just want more. I will never buy from a dealership that chooses to operate their business that way and I will talk trash about them no matter how many times I get a cease and desist letter. The lovely benefits of freedom of speech!
