I just now recieved my license in the mail and cannot go on without thanking you for these videos. I was out of school for nearly a year and only had one shot at the test before it was drastically changed. Thank you for these videos! And to everyone about to take the test: the sole purpose of state board is to hold people accountable for issues in the trade. You just need to be sanitary and show you at least know the processes to a slight degree and you pass!

@@jazzzba281 no it’s not. I just watched all Glam and Beyonds ‘new’ videos over and over. Make sure you have everything labeled and sanitized. I struggled with the nails, dropped a few things lol and still passed. You’ll do great.

I just took my test and I passed! Just make sure that the monomer and polymer got the manufactures label because they are not gonna let you do it if doesn't have the original label. !

You will be fine, listen for specific instructions from the proctor, remember that during the perm you will be demonstrating saturation of the “perm solution” and also be doing a test curl. Try to relax and do the best you can ❤️ let me know how it goes!! Good luck

I passed it early this month. Unfortunately, my nail glue did not dry during exam, I used new glue on the exam day. I tried it again at home after test. It didn’t stick a nail well either. So please test your glue before a exam and just apply a little. Also other people’s acrylic did not dry either on exam day. So few of us did not able to finish this procedure.

The nail being used in the video comes with a free edge that mimics a natural nail so all she did was apply the tip than the acrylic on top . But yes if your plastic finger does NOT come with free edge yes prep it and the day of the test you’ll be apply over it .

I have my practical in 2 days. I bought the odorless kit at Sally’s it says odorless on the outside packaging but not on any of the bottles or jars. Shouldn’t it say it at least on the monomer bottle? 🤦‍♀️

since it is a different station where do you put the large trash bag and all of the supplies from the set up portion ?

The set up and disinfection will be done in one station . The table you will use for the monomer section will be next to it, but i suggest you take a separate trash bag, epa, hand sanitizer for the monomer section. No there was not, the finger has a free edge which allows the student to apply the tip and than the acrylic.

My test is in two days and my school is no help. I was taught to just use the acrylic powder straight from the original jar but in most videos I’ve seen people pouring the powder they use into a separate container just like the monomer. Is this required?

If you do that make sure it’s the small powder jar your using and just know you’ll have to throw away the whole container once done, which is why many simply pour into a double dish like I did so you can save the leftover powder and your avoiding cross contamination.

Ok I will try to explain this and hope it makes sense . You need to find a plastic Finger with a free edge . I have it linked in the description you can purchase on Amazon. That finger has a free edge that mimics the natural nail , so the day of the test what you will do will be apply a tip on the finger , cut it and apply acrylic over it, buff and shape it smooth, that’s it . Everyone does this section a little different just make sure you follow the required steps and you will be fine. Other instead of taking a finger take an actual mannequin hand which is fine also . Hi there! On the psi supply and equipment list under items that need to be labeled it has cuticle oil. But in the videos I have watched I don’t see cuticle oil being applied. Does cuticle oil need to be applied once the tip has been applied and cleaned off? I have been out of the game for a few years. I completed school 12 years ago so monomer and polymer was not part of the exam the first time I tested. You videos have helped tremendously. Thank you!

🙏Hopefully last question & I pray you don’t take this as me challenging your knowledge at all, I’m just a little confused about the labels. On the bulletin it says, “Items that are NOT to be labeled, doing so could result in loss of points” with the list underneath it. Then on the proctor under “Improvements” it says in bold: “Only the kit bag needs to be labeled as “Pre-Sanitized.” So I’m seeing two different instructions on there, and then alot of items that are in the videos are under “Not to be labeled.” So I am confused. 😬 I’ve been out of school for such a long time, and have been studying so hard that I don’t want to loose any points with labels. It can, some students are trained to take the finger with a tip and add one over it, but the finger the student in the video is using has a free edges which allows her to glue the tip and add the acrylic over it without a problem. ❤️

If they instruct you to use the the trash can they provide than awesome, but in the past a trash bag taped to the work station has always been used. And because usually you use a separate table to do the "nail service" on, .. a small trash bag (zip loc size) is used to have right on the side of your table for that part of test, Hope this makes sence. @@NhiTran-ux4mv Yes you can put the paper towel inside of a zip lock bag, everyone packs their kit a little different as long as you have what you need you should be fine! As for the things in the box noticed how everything she is needing throughout she is taking them out one at a time, your goal is to keep the table clean and as sanitary as possible and try to avoid cross contamination. Once you are done with that section you can put everything back and inside the bag than back in your kit. Try not to over think it you got this 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 let me know how you do. Good luck

Maybe I don’t understand the question but... During the first part the set up and Disinfection. You are setting up the station where you will be performing all of the hair services on the mannequin. During the monomer and polymer section you will be working on a different table so it won’t be until you actually start that section where you will disinfect that small table and chair.. hope that makes sense .

Your acrylic powder does not have to be mandatory clear he can be just the regular acrylic powder and super nail is a great brand you can use kiss when you get a little bit of experience with it but supernail you know is pretty well and this is coming from a licensed manicurist 28 years they're not going to be tripping if the kryllyk is not clear whether or not is odorless is completely up to you if you know how to apply acrylic and you know what you doing and you practice quite a few times not just one or two months but hopefully you've had a good Channel 11 months at it you should pass it with no problem💅🏼💅🏻💅💇🏻💇🏼💇💆💆🏻💆🏼
