Excellent! Great way of explaining the difference between the Old and the New Covenant. The Scripture reading you suggested I read through this morning and brings together with such clarity the overwhelming promises of the New Covenant grace message. We are so blessed to be living in the days after the cross when the New Covenant was brought in. Where God made this New Covenant with God and not with man. Therefore eliminating the possibility of the promises He made between God the Father and God the Son. He cannot break that promise ( covenant) to Himself and we who are IN Christ are the beneficiaries of this marvelous eternal life gift to those who will believe in Jesus! Praise the Lord my dear brother!

According to Gal3:15-17 a covenant is never made obsolete. Each covenant is taken into the next covenant. The “old” covenant is obsolete only in the fact that the old covenant’s prophesied of the NC and Jesus sacrifice being the better, complete, and fulfilling sacrifice. Without the covenant to Abraham how could God keep His promise to all nation for one people?
@davidhjgayministry6 жыл бұрын
How about Heb. 8:13? The old covenant is not 'taken into the' new covenant, as you put it. It has fulfilled its God-appointed task.
@jeffrop.koaltrain54066 жыл бұрын
We certainly agree on the finished work of Jesus. Also thank you for this dialogue sir. I see Heb. 8:13 as we are now in the second covenant (however the unbelieving nation of Israel is not) but also seeing that the older covenant cannot be abolished because Paul said in Gal.3:15-17. I’m sorry but I have to agree with Paul because you seem to be saying the new covenant abolished the older Covenant already and he said that can’t happen. So I take this and apply it to Heb.8:13 which to me reads that is is vanishing, not that it already has. This also is the meaning of my comment about the covenant with Abraham because God can’t break His promise with that covenant nor the mosaic covenant by abolishing them. I would be so bold to say if you believe the second covenant has already ended the first covenant then the first covenant has ended David’s covenant which ended Abraham’s covenant which ended Noah’s covenant. I do believe as believers saved by grace through faith we are to worship God with His Torah which in the Christian religion usually means the second covenant did away with God’s Torah.
@davidhjgayministry6 жыл бұрын
You are leaping way beyond Scripture. God through Jer. promised that he would bring in a new covenant, unlike the old. 'New' speaks of replacement -- supersede. Gal. 3:23-25 (Greek -- not some of the very poor translations) tells us that the old covenant was a temporary covenant, lasting until Christ (verse 19). 2000 years ago the old covenant was obsolete -- the 'becoming' (Heb. 8:13) does not mean 'in so many thousands of years from now'. As for Noahic, Abrahamic, Davidic covenants, it is mere speculation to talk about them in this context. The video and the passages I have quoted refer to old (Mosaic) and new covenants only. That is all I am speaking about here.
@jeffrop.koaltrain54066 жыл бұрын
I agree with you sir on all points except the context of how your using Gal.3:23-25. God’s Torah guarded Israel or all believers by faith to be holy and righteous before God. Also the chapter also is about be condemned by God’s Torah. It’s not Christ replacing The old covenant or replacing Torah but Jesus filling or making full what the Torah is lacking. Therefore under the new covenant we can now pursue it’s full purpose through the blood of Christ and The Spirit of God puts this Torah in our hearts. Christ only fulfilled the purposes of His first coming including the atonement sacrifice and will completely fulfill the rest at His second coming.

Jeremiah was speaking about Christ bringing the new covenant. He was not prophesying a new covenant with OC Israel. Heb. 8:8-13 etc. is explicit. The prophecy refers to the Spirit's work in the elect under the gospel.

We read it first as it was said to Israel and Judah in the OC. If before the exile, we often see a prophecy of the return. But frequently we see the NC, the gospel, Christ. 1 Pet. 1:8-10 etc. We look for and preach Christ in all the Scriptures Luke 24; Acts 3; Acts10; 1 Cor. 2:2; 9:16; 2 Cor. 4:5.

Is the new covenant still being implemented? "No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, . . . says the LORD." Christians know the LORD through reading the Bible, but we do not know Him fully. We have much to learn about His nature and His character, because we see Him darkly. You misunderstand the fulfilment of the prophecy -- not OC Israel but NC. Jews and Gentiles need to be converted. Only the elect (Jew or Gentile) brought to faith have been given the Spirit. See Hebrews 8:8-13.

@@davidhjgayministry Dear David, the prophesy is very clear. The new covenant is with the "house of Israel, and with the house of Judah" v31 and "they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them". So, for this prophesy to be fulfilled, all the house of Israel and the house of Judah have to be devoted to God. All of them. There's no need to teach anyone. You say that Jews and Gentiles need to be converted. Then how can the prophesy be fulfilled, as we need to teach our neighbor? Even inside the church there's a need for the gift of teacher.

Was the Law written on Old Testament saints hearts?
@davidhjgayministry4 жыл бұрын
Since Jeremiah makes the point that in the new covenant the law (of Christ, of course) will be written on the hearts of the regenerate, and in the old covenant the law (of Moses, of course) was written on stone, the answer to your question is 'No'. BUT... more precisely, since you speak of OT saints, they would, by anticipation, have been 'in' the new covenant, were regenerate, and so they loved God's law. I don't think we are told much about their 'anomalous' position. Hope this helps. Thank you for the stimulating question.
@dougdozier87824 жыл бұрын
@@davidhjgayministry If I understand you rightly both saints of Old and New Covenant experience regeneration but no Law was written on the heart of an Old Covenant believer. Is this your viewpoint?

@@dougdozier8782 Sorry if not clear enough -- I think the OT saints were 'in' NC so I think they did have the spiritual law written on their hearts. But I am not sure that were are told much about this. Have you any ideas?
@dougdozier87824 жыл бұрын
@@davidhjgayministry I would say the same. I would argue that they have the same spiritual law on their hearts just like new Covenant believers do. The spiritual intent of the Law has always existed in both covenants. A clear example Paul uses is paying preachers in 1Corinthians Ch.9:8-14. What does a law about not muzzling your ox while it threads out the grain have to with a new Covenant believer? Paul says it was written for our sake also so you should pay your preacher(summarizing). The point is that a specefic Law found in the Law of Moses had a spiritual intent behind it in the Old Covenant that applies to a new Covenant believer. I believe this spiritual intent was "love your neighbor as yourself." We see Paul make this argument in Roman's 13:8-10. So when saints in both Covenants are regenerated the spiritual intent of the law is written on their hearts. I believe Christ magnifies the Law (Isaiah 42:21) and teaching us the true intent of that Law that always existed even under the old Covenant (Sermon on the Mount). Christ is not superseding the Law or correcting Moses but teaches us the Laws true spiritual intent. This would be a challenge for scribes and pharisees who followed commandments of men and their fathers traditions rather than the Law of God. I hope this wasn't confusing. This is fascinating to me and I appreciate your videos.

Yes, these men exist. I take the apostle to be establishing the gospel in the face of such men. 1 Cor. 1:18 -- 4:21; 2 Cor. is all about this sort of thing. I know the kind of accusation that has been levelled against you -- know of it in a personal way -- but go on by faith. Heb.8:13 speaks of it being ready to vanish away and is decaying. I’m sure your familiar with Matt.5:17-19 so I will just suggest that our Messiah hasn’t fulfilled all of God’s Torah. He hasn’t physically returned yet, nor has He judgment seat of Christ taken place nor has The Messianic Kingdom started. Gal 3:17 tells us that one covenant doesn’t annul a previous covenant. The old covenant hasn’t been abolished but it will one day until all has been fulfilled and of course the covenant made with Abraham cannot be abolished because it is with this that God promised all nations will be one people by faith and this promise can’t be abolished till the last person comes to faith in Christ and that person too becomes a son of Abraham by faith.

Heb. 8:13 means it was ended there and then in Christ's finished work. John 19:30 -- finished -- Matt. 5:17-18 fulfilled in the finished work of Christ. Hence Rom. 8:1-4 etc. Who said the Abrahamic covenant is abolished? Jer. 31 is about the Mosaic covenant.

Seems pretty simple but made complicated. There was an old covenant. The people "didn't remain faithful to my covenant," Hebrews 8:9. The fault with this first covenant was "with the people." Hebrews 8:8. God finds fault with the people not His perfect law. And that makes sense because then He tells us that He will write these same laws on our hearts and on our minds Hebrews 8:10. God gives us a new heart and the Holy Spirit so we keep His decrees and His commandments Ezekiel 11:19-20. Problem = peoples hearts, God's Solution = new heart Seems too simple.

@@davidhjgayministry Hi there again, I would like to have your opinion on my thoughts on the below Jeremiah scriptors and my comments. I like the way you thoroughly explain your knowledge of scripture. You make sure all the details are attached. I thank God for your wisdom. Before I start I have to say that I was saved 5 years ago and became a member of a church which baptised me. I left shortly after as they pressured me extremely. The church is called ICOC (international churches of christ). I then 5 years later, now, went back. Now I found out that they are: -Preterists -Replacement Theoligist (church replaced israel) -believe in works to keep Salvation -believe we can lose salvation in many ways by not obeyilng jesus commands. Ok so here we go…. Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Point 1. God made the new covenant with the nation of israel as they broke the old covenant (mosaic covenant, Law). Israel is still under this covenant. God will put his law into their inwards (instead of tablets) and in their hearts and they shall not have to teach each other of the Lord anymore. I think this is an Instant event which happens in a split second at the second coming of Jesus where God instantly gives the jewish remnant the knowledge of the Law and Messiah. This is the only way they would not have to teach each other about the Lord as they all at the same time recieve the word in their hearts and minds. In the millenium the Jews will reign according to the law spreading and teaching to the surviving nations and people on earth. Point 2 I Dont think this is ever meant for the gentiles as we will be the bride of Christ and body of Christ to rule above those on earth. Above-- being at a higher authority. I Dont think the jewish remnant will receive glorified bodies as the church (body) will. The israeliter and remaining gentiles on earth will enjoy the blessings of Israel (abrahamic covenant) once they learn and obey Gods Laws. They will also live long and prosperous. Some even through the whole 1000 years. If one dies at 100 he will be thought to die as a Child. Gentiles have their own salvific rules. We are saved at an Instant when we Believe having Faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross (death burial ressourrection). When we trust in Jesus we Receive the Holy Spirit. We walk completely in faith without any physical requirements or works....vs the jews requiring a sign and law. There was a reason why Jesus told Paul (minister to the gentiles) not to baptise but to preach the gospel only. 1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. I Believe we are saved by this gospel. (By the Grace of God through our Faith, not works) 1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Gentiles are saved as Cornelius and the roman Jailer. There will be a small amount of jewish individuals to be saved as the gentiles. But only a very few. The rest of the Jews and israel will be dealt with in the 7 year tribulation. They betrayed God but through the new Covenant he will save them in the end at Jesus coming. Point 3 Acts 2 pentacost (repent and be baptised etc.) I see to be under this new covenant as Peter addresses Isreal as a people and Nation. The repent and be baptised for the revision of sins does not meant that they are saved at that Instant during pentacost. I think they must do this to qualify and LATER be saved at Jesus coming.. Here my rensoning…….Acts 3:19 and 20 Acts 3.19 Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Act 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Peter addresses again the Nation of israel and here he says that their sins will be blotted out at the times of refreshig when Jesus comes (second coming). So the jews according to the new covenant will be saved at the second coming but only those who will repent and be baptised for the remission of sins. Remission of sins being a preparation vs Instant salvation. Salvation happens to jews when jesus comes and he puts his law into their hearts and inwards. Instantly. ____________________ I thank you for reading my comments as this is my current belief. Unfortunately I cannot convince my church members of this as they are as mentioned above Replacement therists etc.........I feel I cannot learn from them but they may profit from my beliefs. It is very frustrating as they seem to be blinded. I fear that replacement-theory may be a curse on israel and abraham. If one replaces israel with the church then he is denying the importance of Israel which God declared holy and even described israel as his first born. He who curses israel shall be cursed himself. I am afraid to be a part of such a church as I do not want to be cursed with them. These are just my thoughts. If you feel the desire to comment then I would appreciate your view. God bless you and your loved ones All Glory to God.

Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 7What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? 16For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again

Revelations 22 10And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Oh brother. Think Think Think. There are so many problems with everything you say, it's incredible. Let's just deal with Jeremiah for now. It says nowhere that God has done away with the old testament. I'm sure you are aware but in case you aren't, Hebrews changed, that's right changed the word of God and translated the word wrong. It's husband, not rejected. "Husband" is saying just the opposite. That God is still there and will not leave us although we have sinned. That alone should make every christian say how can I trust the "new testament". As far as this new covenant, there is no question at all that it hasn't happened yet. It says very clear that there will be universal knowledge of God when this new covenant happens. If that were the case today, why would you need missionaries? Ever hear of atheists??? DUH. It also says that it will be with Israel and the house of Judah. That means the 12 tribes will be together. We still don't know who the 10 tribes are. All people have to do is think.

I do not accept that 'Hebrews chamged'. I stand by Hebrews 7, 8 and 10. You are not quarrelling with me but with the writer of Hebrews. Then read Romans 6, 7 and 8, Galatians, Ephesians 2, Philippians 3 etc. You are quarrelling with Paul.

@@davidhjgayministry You don't accept that?? There is nothing to accept. It is undisputed fact. The problem is you and probably 99.9% of christians don't know hebrew so you believe whatever you are told. Paul was a jew and he knew hebrew which is why he gave up trying to convert jews and focused on non-jews. He knew they could not refute whatever he said. Ever wonder why the church has always taught Greek and Latin? Why not learn the original language, hebrew. It's very obvious it was done so people would not know the lies. If you only knew how many mistranslations and fabrications your religion is based on, you would run from every church you see.

@@nothingbutthetruth613 I do not accept your premise, and I see no hope of each of us changing the view of the other. I suggest we leave our conversation there. Christ will give his ruling on the final day.

@@davidhjgayministry I'll have to agree with you that your mind won't be changed but if you have no answer, and I know you won't ask anyone else but nobody will have an answer, there is no reason for you to believe it. I'll just give you one more example and I promise there are hundreds. Isaiah 53 which is relied on to be the smoking gun. The passage that every missionary refers to with confidence that this will convince anyone about the authority of jesus in the old testament. If it was translated correctly no thinking person would EVER believe that this is referring to him. There are many problems but my favorite is 53:8 where it actually says "THEY suffered FROM our sins". Not "He suffered for our sins". How can "they" mean jesus and what would "from" our sins mean. Of course the church had to change the words to conform to their belief but it is another lie. I challenge you or anyone else to look this up. Bless you and good luck to you.

@@nothingbutthetruth613 Jesus did not die to redeem his people? What, then, do 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 1:18-21; 1 John 1:7 -- 2:2 mean? And that's the merest sample of such statements throughout the NT -- all forshadowed in the old covenant -- in the law and the prophets. Christ made this as clear as day -- Luke 24:25-27.

Jesus did not fulfill this prophecy, read what verse 34 says, what God says in verse 34 has not happened. Also read Isaiah 2:2-5, Isaiah 11:1-10, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Jeremiah 33:14-18 ,Ezekiel 37:24-28 . Nothing that was spoken has been accomplised by the messiah in the messianic age. Infact Jesus did not fulfill any prophesies. To mention few read all the prophecies in Mathew, all are out of context. The fetal flaw here is that the so called messianic prophetic portrait is largely a Christian fiction that among other things regularly relies on fabrication of prophesies as well as tendentious misquotations and misapplications of the passages in Hebrew scriptures. .This person has not read the bible nor understood the prophecies. Infact the Romans made a mess of scriptures, inventing, Jesus god, Trinity, sunday worship instead sabbath Saturday, Christmas, easter, these are festivals of God, but pagan, in the same way, baptism instead of circumcision. This man is trying to defend the lies which is the New Testament . We have been believing the lies since 2000 yrs. Jesus said I am coming quickly, what does quickly mean, does it mean 2000 yrs. 2000 yrs have passed, still people think he is coming quickly, does it make sense. Remember Jesus never existed. Do the research. Seek the truth, seeking truth is not a sin.

With respect, this is nonsense. Read the letter to the Hebrews. Try Heb.8 for a start. I leave your comment to show others how people can force preconceptions on the plain statements of Scripture. 'The fatal flaw' in your argument is that the NT is against you.
