This is great news!! I remember seeing cars in that pallet factory from where that freeway is which is just east of the 422/480 eastbound change. OMNITrax is doing a fantastic job. The new track in looks perfect. Plus nice to see jointed rail instead of welded.

@@TheTrainMane Yes, I remember cars being parked at that pallet factory years ago. It was neat to see because I always would look to see from the freeway what new boxcar was parked their.

Doesn't the CCR have a spur that goes through the middle of a cemetery? Interesting place to run a rail line! (unless the cemetery expanded around it)

If you go east on the rail just past the next building there was a scattered iron ore pellets mixed in the gravel...The old skate park was on Aurora Road next to the old quarter car wash joint at the Northfield Road light. There was also a couple remnants of the old Erie Line just past Shelly Materials where the old switch that was used to drop material into Shelly along time ago. There is some goodies found in the grass by the switch. You can catch pictures of what me a nd my son Tyler Szabo have found..catch my Abandoned Rail picture folder on my Facebook page
