I really wanted to understand this too. I THINK it's because of the recline maybe? It still isn't quit clear to me why its so much more expensive.

They told me it’s because they belong to 2 different series (platinum for the T model, gold for the G model). But I agree with you: the fully vs partial recline function seems to me the only real difference. (Sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker)
