The Steez CT SV is not a BFS reel. It’s design philosophy is similar to how the Alphas 800S is. Short accurate cast or aiding in hard casting baits that float in the air like a non weight transfer squarebill. They are only $500 at digitaka not $800

Thanks for the breakdown of its features, I go between Daiwa and Shimano. But going to pass and possibly go with a Aldebaran! Would you go with the DC or the regular BFS model?

The reel looks hella good with the bronze and sparkly chrome. Not bad for $500 on digitaka since msrp is $800 but I can’t justify it being the 3rd most expensive baitcaster they offer for a shallow spool reel. My converted bfs zillion with the roro spool probably outperforms it. And I already put in a preorder for the Aldebaran DC. Going to put it on a ML rod
@Husky90948 күн бұрын
The CT 70 size spool won’t have sv boosts, the boost basically is mean for heavier weight which has two stages of extensions of spring inside the spool pulley. It’s hard to achieve in 70 spool size. Plus it’s called the “limited” means the this is reached to the end of this CT platform, they won’t have a new spool update until the new platform comes out (this shallow spool SLP already has it for a long time)
@hunterbull78048 күн бұрын
I love my 19 Steez CT SV. This Mandalorian looking color looks awesome but I don’t have much of a use for such a shallow spool that isn’t a true bfs reel. I know that you could always swap the spool with the deeper spool in the non-limited version but at that point I’d rather just pay less for the new full size Steez SV. This new limited has a new drag star design that I may pick up to put on some of my other reels, and I may consider t-wing swapping my 19 model CT. I did that on a Steez A2 with the 21 Steez SV LTD T-Wing part and it looks excellent.

if i was was into baitcaster again id get this but i know it will sit and eat dust had a couple nice baitcasters but went back to spinning fun...if this was a SLP works style then in a way yeah 800$ but factory 800$ is a lot even though its already a lot this reel is for people that likes the best of the best even tho the fish could care less, ive caught more fish in my cheap set up compared to my expensive ones
@Husky90948 күн бұрын
this is just a 19 Steez CT 700 with a shallow spool(SLP already has it), 24 Steez sv TWS t-wing and a 21 zillion 8.5 gear set. If you have 19 Steez, you can just buy the parts to upgrade it.

While I like Shimano & Daiwa, this one I will not be picking up. I feel that Daiwa is just pulling a magic trick making you focus on the body in one hand while reusing same technology but giving them a fancy name in the other hand. I have the 2019 JDM version and I love it. I never pick up the same reel twice no matter how good it is. Last thing I picked up from Daiwa was the JDM 24 Steez SV TW. Waiting for my local shop to get in the Shimano Aldebaran DC.

There is a new Tatula 200 coming out that seems to be designed for swimbaits. Direct competitor to the Scorpion MD 200.
@chuechang76688 күн бұрын
Can I get some links or references for the new Daiwa Tatula 200? Do you have any info on when it will be releasing? I am a Daiwa Fan Boy and I fish nothing but swimbaits. As far as internals, line capacity and durability is concerned, the Daiwa Tatula 200 is bomb proof! I love it for fishing swimbaits. On the other hand, Daiwa does not offer a very high gear ratio in the 7.9+ or higher gear ratio range in the current Daiwa Tatula line. The 7.3 Daiwa Tatula 200 is too slow for fishing glide baits around 2-3oz. It only pulls in a measly 32" of line per handle turn. I need at least 37"+ of line per handle turn on a 200 sized reel fishing 2-3oz glide baits. I wish Daiwa would have offered a Daiwa Tatula 200 in a 7.9 or higher gear ratio that can pull in at least 37" of line. Since, there is no 7.9+ gear ratio in the Daiwa Tatula 200 line, I have had to resort to using a Daiwa Tatula 300. The problem with the Daiwa Tatula 300 is, it's too heavy and cumbersome for fishing 2-3oz glidebaits. Also, I tend to backlash more on a 300 sized reel when casting lighter 2-3oz baits since the heavier and bigger spool does not start up as fast. Therefore, I am forced to look for another 200 sized reel from another brand that has a very high gear ratio and therefore has a high enough line pick up per handle turn for fishing 2-3oz glide baits. With that said, I was thinking about picking up a Shimano Scorpion MD 200 for fishing 2-3oz glide baits, since the XG model can pull in 37" of line per reel handle turn. On the other hand, if Daiwa is planning to roll out a new Daiwa Tatula 200, than I am willing to wait and hold off buying the Shimano Scorpion MD 200. I am hoping Daiwa is finally going to offer a very high gear ratio that can pull in 37"+ of line per handle turn with this new Daiwa Tatula 200. I am hoping you can give me as much info and links/references as possible, since this is really exciting news and is perfect timing.

@@chuechang7668 I'm in the exact same boat, I was about to pick up a Scorpion until this was announced. The new TATULA TW 200 will be available in an 8.4:1 option with 40" per turn. It will have a 100mm handle, hold 135m of 20lb mono/fluoro and a 5.5kg-6kg drag depending on the model. It's going to be released in April/May if I remember correctly. If you look up "TATULA TW 200 JP" the video and Daiwa Japan website should come up first on google.

@@chuechang7668 The 8.4 model will have 39 inches per turn, hold 135m of 20lb fluoro, have a 100mm handle, and a 5.5kg drag. It also has some casting technology called LC-Concept which is new to this reel I believe. If you google "TATULA TW 200 JP" the Daiwa Japan website should come up along with a KZbin video of the new reel. Not much out on it in English yet but it seems to be a 200 size Tatula 300/400 with some minor cosmetic differences. The release date should be in April/May if I'm remembering correctly.

@@THEREELTEST Alot of marketing hype out there in all industries, no doubt about it, but in this case the laws of physics rule. I stand by what I said, in theory and in practice. Its basically a top of the line version of the silver creek air tw custom, but tuned for bass instead of trout. That's where the marketing hype kind of kicks in because we know that there can be alot of overlap between Bass and trout fishing. Bottom line... the fixed braking rotor works for its intended application (short distance accuracy with light weight baits).
