Well Savage Opress would work for this re-use of the body. Since they were both 7'2. Or Savage was 7'1 technically. I had no idea Malgus was 7'2. Always thought he was 6'6 but I was probably thinking of Bane. He is like if Andre the Giant was a Sith Lord. Can't wait to get this figure.

Darth Malgus was an absolute badass Sith, with the following achievements: - killed Grandmaster Jedi Satele Shan's master and his own master during the reclamation of Korriban as a Sith apprentice - lost a duel to Satele Shan who btw is a descendant of Darth Revan and Bastila Shan, and survived on Alderaan - ransacked Coruscant and almost Order 66 the Jedi Order - almost incited another Imperial Civil War and claims to be Emperor, where he was dubbed The False Emperor, since he believed that Darth Vitiate abandoned the Empire in pursuit for selfish ends. - currently imprisoned and still feared by both Republic and Sith Empire even just by going rogue and following his own Sith path

This has been #1 on my most wanted list for many years. I want to say since Revan came out. He looks amazing and I'm happy they didn't skimp out on the size. I didn't even realise Malgus is around 7 feet tall. The hood is executed so well. Cannot wait to get this in hand, I ordered two

So awesome. I cant get enough of this figure. Ive changed his pose about 2 dozen times in the last few days on the shelf! I was so enamored by him i missed the fact his knee pads are incorrect. It is a bummer they did that but like you said with the thigh swivel on him. For Malgus everything else is so good it makes up for those issues. Thanks for the review. LOVE the pose you have of him at the end..over the head 2 handed Saber pose just slays hard even more so with the awesome soft goods on him and detail of him. Side note: the game he is from SWTOR. when it first came out Malgus was the main story boss. In order to kill him you had to throw this explosive ball at him once you got his health down which was a 5 player dungeon/scenerio at the time. It was a pain in the ass. They eventually got rid of that mechanic as the game progressed through the years lol. Would have been such a great accessory to add for all the people who played the game during that era and hilarious too!💀

Im a huge fan of the TBS some may even call me a shill but i dont understand the elimination of double jointed legs and arms just to get to pinless it severely limits articulation and poseability especially on lightsaber wielding characters. the ab crunch is a good addition but loss of thigh swivel also mind boggling. Fine for someone beefy and not finessing a bunch like Malgus but damnnn. I dont wanna buy statues i want to put my figs in crazy poses all the time if not i would....buy statues lol

Being completely honest…a lot of the single joints are on deep cut hinges that give you just as much range as the old double joints of the Black Series. The deep cuts with the addition of butterfly joints put em’ on a different level. Take the old Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper bodies compared to the new ones for example. Thanks for watching, Philip! @OutOfTheBasement I agree on the troopers, and and it's not like every TBS release pre 2021 had double jointed arms, but there were some old double jointed that would get incredible range when not hindered by armored pieces or other parts of the sculpt that the new single joint just can't replicate. Honestly I'm more bummed about the legs, specifically TCW Maul not really being able to crouch that low. Nate mentioned this in his review of that fig. Look at Action's posing vid for comics Maul with the double jointed legs. Boy gets loooow. Appreciate the recent addition of butterfly joints but lately they've become, as someone on TBS Cantina put it a few weeks ago (cant remember who), "decorative" moreso than anything being buried so deep into the sculpt, compared to the way Marvel Legends does them (though I understand SW figs couldn't replicate the outer butterfly joint the way comics figs can because of realism and aesthetics, I understand the need for balance). The butters in SW were better when they were first introduced back in 2021ish IMO. You know I love you guys no hate all ❤️ always

This sounds like a crazy Idea, and I doubt anyone would really know, but I am wondering how well a Neca Predator head would fit on this Malgus body. I always try to make crazy custom figures and a sith predator would be super cool. The size of this figure might fit well with the other predators, I just hope the head swap wouldn't be too lose or a pain with the cape.

I just got back from vacation and mine arrived along with Malak, just unboxed them a few minutes ago, I'm not super familiar with Old Republic stuff but I love a good Sith character. I'm glad I waited before watching any reviews, because its rare these days for me to be genuinely surprised by a figure. That hood setup is excellent, as you said best in the line so far, the articulation had some nice surprises, my only nitpick is I wish the mask was easier to remove. Still, so far this is my top Black Series figure of 2023.

Very cool. The only thing I would've liked to have had besides the Force effects you mentioned, are a few swappable hands (like a Force push or grab). I could imagine posing him holding the neck of another figure...but oh well. Nice figure otherwise.

That is awesome, Tom! It's a really fun line. The T-Rex is probably my favorite release from the line so far. But the Ceratosaurus, Baryonyx, Irritator, Velociraptor, and Irritator are all fun! Honestly they're all great. Just depends on which ones you want to get. I have almost the entire line so far. I also really like the human characters. -Justin

Darth Malgus is very impressive indeed. I'm considering buying the figure because I really liked the novel he appears in ("Decieved"). However, the whole thing takes place over 3000 years before the OT, which other characters could he interact with?

Malgus height is 2.2 meters, Nihilus height is 2.1 meters but they they looks sooo much different on the shelf, since I've got both of them I can't understand the idea of making Malgus in such a scale :(

Malgus is correct, Nihilus isn't. They put Nihilus on a 2013 Darth Maul body, way too short. -Justin

For this much money: no detailed saber- used cheap rubber, no other accessories, hands, plastic lightning. Cape on mine was way too small. Luke’s is twice as big and he’s 1/3rd the size. My figure came with paint app issues like a blue paint streak on the back of his head as unless angled just right his eyes look closed or like he has some syndrome. The organ he barely stands out. Also the chest should have black with the silver/gray sticking out. They def did what they did with Malgus for me- the blue on the back of the head in my case. Compare to McFarlane: $20-$25 extra hands, accessories, and basically your money’s worth. Plus you can see the figure not a picture of it. No cheap, even plastic lightning? They are approaching SHF or Mafex costs and yet not giving you a lot for your money and again there’s the “trust me bro” on quality control boxing.

A little over $30 is not approaching SHF or Mafex pricing for Star Wars. It's a bummer yours has a QC issue. Also the McFarlane comparison is rather tiring. McFarlane is a privately owned company with no shareholders, executives, etc. to answer to and share profit with. Star Wars is also in the top 5 most expensive IPs. DC is not. Licesning is a huge factor with cost. Also where else are you going to get an incredible Darth Malgus action figure? You're not going to find that with SHF or Mafex. Also...McFarlane's clunky sculpts are awful compared to Hasbro's and no photo-real either. -Justin

I'm looking forward to getting him. The only thing that looks a little off is the skin color. He looks a little too pink. He should be a bit more Ashen. Although I concede that how his skin looks will depend on which appearence he has throughout the games 13 year history. In his most recent he has a much more grey ashen look to the visible (and remaining) parts of his skin. Oh and those broad pieces on his saber hilt? Those are blades. He can use his lightsaber like an axe. I'm a little sad they didn't include his newer damaged hilt where one of those was half sliced off.

The sculpt is superb. Added torso articulation looks decent. That knee joint is as ugly as the Knight of Ren. For deluxe price guve us pinles double jointed and some style pose hands.

I opened him, immediately didn't like his 14 foot laser sword, and was perturbed by the size... 😮 He's a cross between the size of a Neca figure and the mold of a Classified figure, and doesn't feel or really look too much like a SW figure to me... If I was blindfolded, apart from his cape, I would bet my house this was a GI Joe... 😢

Hello Nate Malgus looks amazing, this is a deluxe figure indeed. I've got him on preorder from Amazon I think 🤔. I'm sure this banger will be a top 3 figure of the year. My Sith forces are continuing to grow, yes they are indeed. I've never played this game but I love the figures Hasbro has been knocking out of the park lately.
