You were a young man and rocked out to this. Felt every note. Now you reminisce but also wonder, where has it gone? And this reminds you it’s here, in its own way, Ian is still a part of you. His sadness shines a light on what you feel at times. You are still here. And maybe he’s not, but it doesn’t matter, the melancholy masterpiece lives on. To be enjoyed like a tall tree that was here before and after you. The leaves were beautiful though, weren’t they?

This song always hurts because unlike a lot of people I live this song. I deal with nihilistic depression. It's not sadness, it's total apathy. You were given a worthless life in an unjust world without permission and now you're forced to continue living this meaningless life one day at a time while everyone you know and love dies around you. "A loaded gun won't set you free, or so they say." It won't now your a ghost which is even more lonely and borning.

The music performance was great. I do wish that the vocals had given it a bit more of an operatic approach, as it is something that could easily be done with such a tone. If nothing else, a bit stronger, emotional tone would have worked better I think. Nothing against her voice, just that it wasn't a good match for the pathos of the song.

This is arguably one of my favourite songs of all time and love the orchestra, but just not 100% sold on Mica's choice of vocals, especially early on. Otherwise it's a wonderful piece of music that could easily be in a film or series.

Great orchestra, horrible singer. Singer is out of tone, out of rhythm, exaggerated body language, horrible voice. The singer was unable to understand the real meaning of this amazing song. Ian Curtis did not deserve such a bad interpreter.

Awful... It doesn't work. It's far too sappy and sounds like a Hollywood western film score.

So much treacle poured over it that it'll eventually turn into amber. Ill-conceived, -transcribed, -arranged, everything. _New Dawn Fades_ transformed into something depressing. Deserves a footnote in the history of artistic poor taste.

Its a fantastic piece of music that is lifted with the strings and taken to a different place with the singers style, so what. Its not the original raw masterpiece by Ian, but as a UK northerner brought up with the punk and Indy music and groups around this time like joy division, I think Ian would have loved the twist, and why not.
