modern setting is probably more appealing to the masses, also you can still have all the coldwar era stuff along with the modern stuff in a modern setting so you get best of both worlds rather than limited appeal of only one setting

@@GugureSux I disagree i dont think being low tech has much if any bearing at all on survival horror feeling or making a place feel alien as its perfectly possible and been done with many games using current or future setting alongside those of the past. Also calling dayz a horror experience is reaching abit, it can be spooky at times during the night but its far from a horror setting. Anyway is it even the dayz mod adding the modern stuff, seems like a waste of time instead of focusing on the survival mechanics and zombies if they are given other mods can already provide that content.

DayZ content never gets old, when all else fails there is always good old DayZ to run to but yeah the reforger mod isn't quite there yet haha but it is cool how far the modders have got in such a short time while learning a completely new engine.

@@alexhomes8549 I liked it several years ago, like right when modding started. But now I can’t find a good server that doesn’t have castle bases or traders but still has all the cool modded loot. I liked dayz when bases were just stashes or random tents in the woods. I’m addition, once you start playing other games likeescape from tarkov, the gameplay in dayz just feels aweful.
