That's a good buy you have there. I have the same model in red, 2010. The bland looks make them better value to buy than many similar ones. I find it is a great all rounder and a perfect road bike. My bike has the standard exhaust (which I prefer) and it's definitely quieter than yours. The clamps around the silencer joints do rot, so may be worth checking. The battery is under the right side cover. Easy to get out, but can be a bit of a pig to get back in. Low down grunt is what these are tuned for and won't disappoint. Enjoy your ride :)

I also have a blue 07 CBF1000, originally yours would have had a pair of blue pillion grab handles, which don’t look rubbish, would have been better if Honda had managed to design a top box mount that kept the original handles. If you feel too much wind buffet at higher speed, one tip is to place rubber washers (10-15mm thick) between the screw and fairing, helped loads on mine. Don’t go for too many electrical accessories such as heated clothing or spot lights, as the stator doesn’t have a particularly high output, if you spend time in traffic, the fan kick in regularly, and if you’ve got the heated grips and other accessories on all at the same time, you can actually discharge the battery, if you then end your journey quickly, you can find that the battery might not have enough charge to start the bike for your next journey, I’ve fitted a volt meter to keep tabs on it. If you find the suspension a bit soggy, Hyperpro do inexpensive replacement springs front and back which work well. Cheers.

@@NatsNackersYard I kept them for a couple of years, but then wanted something with a little more of a fruity tone, opted for a pair or Black Widow cans, The Gorilla Biker has a pair of 400mm cans with the baffles removed, whereas i went for the 300mm cans and have kept the baffles in, looks good, sounds great, and very much legal with the baffles in! I tried a few runs with the baffles out, but it was a little too antisocial, sounded amazing, but wouldn't make me any friends!

@@crimpyjugs5680 I have watched the gorilla biker and have come to a similar conclusion. I will be riding in much more build up areas and the sound of unbaffled black widows bouncing around might be a bit more anti social!

Nice cheap buy. He's clearly dropped it hard on near side. I have a commuter 2008 CBF1000a in red. Love it. Well known for stator failure, esp if commute in low range. Engine loved the revs! And the god damn TPS sensor! I've gone through 3, last one I ordered from a better supplier and touch wood issues. Essentially the F1 light came on flashing and put it in limp home mode once TPS went! Other than that it's a great bike!!

This is a bit of a crazy old world. You would struggle to get a decent 125 for the amount you paid for the big CB. Welding an exhaust is very difficult. I know a very good welder (he does work for Honda) and it wasn't easy for him to weld my ER exhaust. My bikes abs lights stay on till after 6 mph so must be a calibration thing.
