While it's a decent preview video, the comparisons aren't quite fair. We typically compare models in the same weight class - this one is 7B (DALLE3 is at least 10 times larger, not sure about Grok's gen AI, but pretty sure it is much more GPU-heavy to run). Additionally, it's a hybrid model combining LLM, vision, and image generation capabilities - unlike DALLE3 (not sure about Grok's gen AI). Results in paper looked okay, maybe in class of SD1.5? Model size is crucial, particularly in terms of GPU requirements (performance, VRAM, etc.) - it will reflect in speed and most importantly price (including how much for free they allow you to use it). I can't help but to point out - the cat image - on prompt following only DALLE3 passed it. Other's didn't generate the "AI" part in "AI cat". The benchmark chart you referenced specifically measures prompt adherence (it is not an aesthetic performance like you seemed to think), so not sure what is going on. But seeing you were unable to replicate results from the paper, I would guess the version on HF is not the same and/or has different parameters (resolution, steps etc) than what the authors were using.

Let’s not missing the point of Janus evolution, it’s a lab, try to improve the methodology with a small model, not showing off the current product. DeepSeek doesn’t have the GPU power to train and demo a large scale Janus model at this time.

That's because chatGPT is the interface between the user and DALL-E 3. It most likely changed the prompt completely to what it thinks the user wanted... He should've done this through the API or something if he wanted an actual comparison using exact prompts. Meanwhile "Grok" is just using FLUX and it probably also modifies prompts in some way, he should've loaded the open sourced FLUX model locally. What a stupid test by this guy...

I tried it, and was not impressed. I gave it an image of myself, then asked it to change my outfit to that of an ancient greek goddess. It spit out some text. I then pasted that text into the image gneeration window, clicked generate, and it spit out a bunch of images of bug parts and random samples of textures. I was like, what? So then I tried Grok, using the same prompt created by Janus, and it spit out generic images of Greek goddesses, but not using my face. Again, I was not impressed.
