New details released in deadly Philadelphia plane crash

The medical transport jet carrying a patient and her mother back to Mexico was in the air less than a minute before it plunged to the ground in a busy corridor of Northeast Philadelphia, the National Transportation Safety Board said Saturday evening.
"This was a high-impact crash and the plane is highly fragmented. There is substantial impact on the entire community," said NTSB Chairman Jennifer Homendy.

I can't imagine being that mother thinking everything was going to be ok. They were finally going home after her daughter's successful surgery, and then they ended up crashing. So very sad. It is a true miracle that more people didn't die. That area is so crowded. I live right over the bridge in Jersey, from where it happened. I was cooking dinner and heard a very loud rumbling. I looked outside thinking it was raining and it was thunder, but it wasn't. About a half hour later I found out about the crash. I couldn't believe I was able to hear it, but I live right near the Delaware River and a lot of times, sounds carry over the river and we can hear. My prayers and condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives and were injured.

My heart ached just hearing the pain in Andre's mother's voice and seeing her tears. As a mother I can completely emphasize with what she's feeling. I'm so grateful to hear that the Doctors initial prognosis for him turned out to be wrong and that he's doing so much better than anticipated. 3:16 - Notice the blurred area on the rooftop on the right. I saw an interview with a woman who escaped from a nearby house and she said there was a "body" on her roof. I wonder if this blurred area is part of that? The fact that this happened at the height of rush hour, and on a Friday evening when people tend to go out to eat, it is truly amazing that there weren't more fatalities on the ground. Just seeing the video of that one guy, who was sitting in a booth at a diner, not even really close to a window, but was hit in the head by shrapnel flying in and across to where he was sitting. Bizarre and scary to think what a close call he had by just getting grazed by that debris.

It's a big country with a lot of land and a lot of people in it. It's a wonder more accidents and tragedies don't occur, but we have to stay optimistic. I agree, my heart goes out to the families of all affected, and I hope the neighborhood recovers quickly.

Yeah it had flames but that piece of a "plane" had perfectly white paint on it . Still don't add up just like the video of the person saying nobody was in the helo that hit the plane in DC . Just funny they were "test flying" a helo and week prior by remote ....

@@Ktmfan450 Do you have kids? If you have can you protect them from all the accidents and tragedies in life because of their own choices? God cannot control your choices because of freedom to choose. How do you know God didn't try to tell those people in small voice that the danger was ahead but humans chose to ignore the voice? Many times I would have died in car accidents if I didn't give heed to those warnings. We have to learn to listen to God and not depending on ourselves. Before going out pray to God for safety. If you are safe, give thanks to God. If something happens don't blame God. He can't change your decision but He will be there just the way you will be there for your children when things happen.

I appreciate the profile on the young man who protected his sister. I'm glad that he's speaking already and hope he makes a full recovery. I would also like an overview of some of the other nineteen who are injured. None of us need to know their names or anything else invasive. I'd just like to know how many are expected to recover and how serious their injuries are. I applaud the first responders who reached them in time to save them. When I first saw the videos of the explosion, I expected hundreds of casualties.
