I'm a Black woman. I would have loved to have seen a pale woman cast in this movie. If they really wanted to be "diverse," there are plenty of nationalities with people who have pale skin. Just like my own skin is beautiful, "fair" porcelain is uniquely beautiful as well and it actually serves the story. I love old Disney and I love romance. None of this means I hate myself or hate being a woman. I just want to have space for magical love stories again. If they truly cared about this movie, they would've trained animals for the film. He wants to return that first sweet kiss that she sent him via a blushing dove. A stalker?! It's sweet, innocent and romantic. Plus the Huntsman took a big risk in letting her go free and alive. Once The Queen knew she'd been tricked, she'd have been baying for his blood.

If you read the original Schneewittschen, point 3 is false. Thank goodness for the 'Daily Wire" Version that is so old school with a beautiful trailer exactly how it should have been. This Disney one is an uncanny valley feel, all the same faces and weird half smiles on the dwarves and all the CGI ruins it, just like the little mermaid was ruined. Also, that lurid bright yellow dress Snow White wears with the bright blue is terrible and the dress designer got it so wrong. The Daily wire version is just so enchanting, with the live animals and beautiful style that reminds me of old movies like "Legend" and "Willow" in its style. The casting of Brett Cooper as Snow White is so perfect. I hope the Daily wire version is released and makes more money to show Disney how it should have been done.

I don't even think Daily Wire is really making Snow White at all. Sure, Jeremy Boreing shot a little mock teaser in the forest set of Pendragon Cycles with one of its stars Brett Cooper, seemingly just to troll Disney (and it obviously worked). The problem is DW claims they're going back to the original fairy tale (rather than Disney's IP) but most of the whimsy and morale we associate fondly with Snow White is really the invention of Walt Disney as the actual fairy tale is sort of wildly grotesque and sadistic when you really read it. To do any kind of faithful adaptation of the original source fable would be lurid to say the least.

@@yadakakadu Dwarves in this story are "historic period correct". Most of the miners in the past (15-16 century and before), were people of short stature. Dwarves were highly prized as miners, because they could crawl in tight spaces. Even their caps in the original were correct. Pointed hats/caps filled with soft material (wool, straw, dry grass) were used in place of todays hardhats.

As a kid in the 80's, my mum with my auntie took my cousin/big brother and me to see the original Snow White, which was played in our town hall, then they played E.T, and I remember as I watched Snow White, I started falling in love with the art (I don't know if it has something to do with my learning difficulties or what but art makes me happy, not so much when it's just paint splattered everywhere, or a banana ducttaped to a wall), and as a result, I wanted to become an animator and artist more than anything, I won 2 art trophies through school competitions that was held across the UK, but my family couldn't figure out how I grew to having such a deep love for 2D animation until I finally explained it was mum taking me to see Snow White as a kid, So when I heard it was getting a live action remake I thought "Oh no, leave it alone" then I saw the madness being added to it and thought, "No thanks, you can keep it " especially since the live action Snow White trashed the original story

Walt Disney wanted the original movie true to the book and he had a hard time finding the voice for Snow White that could sing too and Adriana Caselotti fit the bill. She exuded pure femininity and had heart which was most important too. She truly cares about the dwarfs and despite her hardships she was never bitter and there is nothing wrong with falling in love living happily ever after - thats what made the movie so endearing. Disney is so far gone now and I am grateful for the years Walt Disney had to accomplish the timeless legacy he created.

Lord of the rings and The Hobbit trilogies did perfect dwarves using a blend of normal sized actors and dwarf actors. That way you're also giving them work. Even if you just choose to have dwarf actors the designs of the dwarves from those movies were great.

Snow White is a much older story than a movie from the 1930s. I studied as an exchange student in Kassel, Germany, the town where the Grimm brothers wrote it down, along with many other famous fairy tales, in the 19th century. I say wrote it down instead of just wrote it because all those tales were old oral traditions (folk tales) that had been passed down by town storytellers for centuries. They did it to preserve that part of their history and culture as Napoleon was conquering his way East across Europe. It's part of my own family history as well as the German branch of my family comes from Darmstadt, which is close to Kassel. That's also the Jewish branch of my family. I may not be Jewish myself, but I have an uncle who is a rabbi and he just moved out of state because of the... attitudes toward Jewish people on the west coast. There are, or were, German families in his synagogue that came to the US in the early to mid 20th century (do the math). My aunt's father still had the numbers tattooed on his arm. She's made her views on Jewish people overly-abundantly clear. And they fired Gina Carano?

The real problem is her bosses at Disney, they're the ones that went out of their way to cast a lead who has nothing but contempt for the source material. At any rate, the public resentment toward Rachel and the entire project itself will no doubt outweigh any desire for people to support Gal alone; especially since supporting Gal here automatically means supporting both Disney and Rachel as well. It's a package deal. Besides, Gal was always on board with the new repurposing/reinventing Snow White mission. She just was not as candid (or aggressive, in terms of proselytizing) about it as Rachel was. She still made sure everyone knew the protagonist would not be getting saved by the prince! They all ultimately deserve the monumental failure that is coming this Spring. Unless they delay it another year, of course.
