anything to do with trains I'm excited for. It's kind of sad just how common it's become to have instant teleportation as a requirement for mods. One of my favorite mods used to be railcraft, I would always try to remove any sort of instant transport system from my modpacks and attempt to sort any transportation in a real world manner. no player teleportation, item teleportation or entity teleportation was allowed. The only teleportation allowed was the nether and end portals

​@@Armetron Gotta agree with you on that, railcraft and traincraft were both my favorites, using that for getting around felt 10x better than just magic teleportation. I find it so sad how those projects were either abandoned or left in completely obsolete MC versions, but I guess we have Immersive Railroading, though its not the same

Just a bit of info... Those boards shown in the gifs are called "Flap panels" in real life. They are commonly found in airports and trainstations... So kinda fitting that the first gif shows one used for a trainstation :D

Well above and beyond is 1.16.5, and I think that v0.5 is going to be released in 1.18.2 or 1.19.1

I think you'll find that that was the _Hype_ Train, not the Hypertrain. Also, something funky is happening in the final clip - there's a big cogwheel sitting on top of the flipboard display, which would be overlapping with the inbuilt small cogwheels of the display itself - I have no idea what that could mean, but it's odd.

I'm placing my bet on a power generation overhaul. In its current state just one flywheel can power about every create build, and not in a very exciting way mind you. Create is clearly embracing this steampunky, 19th century industrial vibe with its aesthetic and design philosophy. Perhaps from now on our Spinning jennys and even trains will be powered by steam!

So excited for the new update! Based off the fact it was reading trains on the first clip, with it eventually showing "Full Steam" as the name for the update I'm inclined to believe it's gonna be a train overhaul. Though new power would be pretty cool I can't think of how it'd be implemented yet. Steam kind of feels like it'd just be an encased fan over magma block alternative unless they added something similar to a waterwheel for it, which would be interesting to see.

The flip boards are such a "Create-y" thing to have in game and suits the obsolete tech style of the mod to a "T". Taking the names of famous trains such as The Golden Arrow and the Flying Scot, albeit with a minecraft twist, is also a nice touch. (So the Endermen are the Minecraft equivalent of the Scottish? I can get behind that .;) ). As for the "reciever" device which you dubbed, I would dare say that is actually a solenoid, the "pulse" on the indicator bulb being from when the theoretical armature inside the copper coil shown on the housing moves as an item passes through the device the solenoid is attached to. Solenoids themselves were invented in the 1820s, so I'm led to believe, and the wooden housing, sickly green light and exposed coils certainly would fit all the apparent tick boxes to have it suit this mod. With all this in mind, perhaps there is to be a turn to non-binary or qualitative information being transmitted wirelessly, rather than just the basic "on-off" devices that Create currently offers? It also begs the question of whether the flip board itself is merely a "monitor", in that it is just relaying information passed to it by a central processor like a "difference engine" (which would be amazing, seriously, look it up), or the flip board itself is a computer terminal of some description. As of yet, however, we are yet to see any themes of steam power being drawn from what we have seen besides the tentative link of the trains on the departure board (while one can argue that trains = steam, with the contemporary view one would find that is most certainly not the case to most commuters' and regular railway travellers' relief). Perhaps it is too early to speculate on the direction the developers are taking?

Fun fact, Golden arrow is a real locomotive, also the Flying Enderman is in reference to the LNER class a3 Flying Scotsman locomotive as well

Something else I noticed is the tunnels in the first clip! More items enter the tunnels than leave them, so I assume they are being gathered into stacks of 64 or something similar. They are also glass. Was that always an option, or is it new?

That is already an option on brass tunnels. Change the stack size on the output tunnel filter with the scroll wheel.

You missed the conveyer in the 2nd clip. It was a single conveyer that went up and down. Not 2 separate ones. It looks really smooth and fitting too

nope! it's actually just 2 normal conveyors, but you can't tell they're separate because 1. they have brass casing on them, 2. there are signs covering the shaft of the upper belt, and 3. there's a tunnel on top, making it even harder to tell they're not connected. it's unfortunate it's not anything new, but hey, that just means you can make it in your own world right now before the update! how nice.

For most of the 1.18 modding, it is up to the devs. Most of the time mods on 1.18.2 will work for 1.18 and 1.18.1, but the devs is the mods has to set the range for it
