Thank you for sharing. I'm going through this, and sometimes I have terrible days. I will be checking this BAM to see if I have this.

I do best on Carnivore. For a smoothie, I love the Equip Prime Protein powder made from beef isolate protein. Clean! And I feel great on it.

yes, that is what the drug is meant for. I use a very low dose and it is prescribed as an off label usage for bowel contractions which helped me immediately. Hopefully I will eventually get where I don't need it at all if I can get my diet controlled enough that I don't still have these issues.

i was diagnosed with mc in september of 2020. they put me on budesonide for 8 weeks. after just a few days my symptoms improved drastically. unfortunately, after about a week the symptoms returned. also, with budesonide it caused a spike in my blood pressure. i also developed a "frozen shoulder" while taking the drug. i believe the 2 are connected. as of right now i am in a huge flare-up, the worse it has been. i will be making an appointment with my gi and also eat some of the foods you have suggested. the good thing about my condition is that i am retired. i taught school for 32 years and simply could not imagine teaching with this condition. thank you for your videos.

If you continue to struggle with symptoms you might ask your doctor to do an endoscopy to test for bile acid malabsorption. I read online that 40% ( I think it’s that percentage) of people with MC also have that. It wasn’t until that was diagnosed and they put me on a rx called colestipol to help manage it that I have been successful adding more foods and getting some normalcy back in my life. I am completely off budesonide ( which wasn’t helpful to me). I think the break from almost all foods for so long also helped the inflammation go down. I am now adding some of the low fodmap foods successfully.

I'm so glad you finally got to see a doctor who is paying attention! That always seems to be the biggest hurdle! I hope Thanksgiving went well for you 💜 It sounds like you're getting a better handle on your symptoms!

the food tracking/symptoms app I like so well is called BOWELLE . It is light blue with a lowercase b on it. I know I paid something for it so I could add some different categories. The Monash University Fodmap Diet app is the best one I found for checking what to eat on the low fodmap diet. I paid $7.99 one time for it.

Thank you sooooo much for sharing your story and journey! God Bless you ! My mom has suffered for 10 years! (We also suspect now, putting timelines together that ever since she got salmonella food poisoning, many of her digestive issues have plagued her). Not one, not one of her many, many doctors have suggested that she could even have this, not her Gastro not her general practitioner, hospitalist who was ready to throw her in hospice to let her die, no one thought to check for microscopic colitis. My mom has since been in the hospital two times with septic shock since January 2022 which I believe is a result of her getting dehydrated from going to the bathroom 20 times a day throughout the night as well which then leads to a UTI which then landed her in the hospital with septic shock. It wasn’t until my cousin who had been researching, urged us to insist on the microscopic colitis test (colonoscopy) which resulted in a positive result just yesterday. We now start this new journey on the steroid that you mentioned and we are hopeful that this will improve my mom situation. However knowing that there are other things that we can look into should this not be the end of our story gives me hope that my mom can live a comfortable life without having fears of her eating / bathroom issues. Thank you so so much for all the information you shared, you have no idea how much you’ve helped. Wishing you all the best always!!!!
