I’m a Southern California girl living in a Central Michigan world, I’m very much a warm weather girl, my poor toes are not used to wearing closed toe shoes for months at a time, they miss flip flops 😂 but I will say I’ll take the cold weather in Michigan over the fires and earthquakes in California. Ive been in Az for 30 years...no snow. I still miss the four seasons and the holidays will never be the same here as up north. When you grow up in towns with 4 seasons there are the difinitive changes in the weather that lead up to each season. Cooler days. Leaves changing colors. Crisp air. Fireplaces. Falling leaves. Fall has begun! Bundling in layers. Boots. Coats. Scarves...snowflakes...Santa! Winter has begun. Sunnier days...temps warming...light jackets....trees and flowers blooming ...Easter...spring has sprung. Warmer days...schools out...time to swim...friends playing...summer storms...4th of July...summer is here!

I love the change of seasons. I live in Central NY, we've had snow everyday for the last week. About 4-6 inches a day. Our grandkids love the snow and when the come over out come the solo cups and snowcone flavors. They pack their cups with snow and add the flavor they want. Always puts a smile on their faces.

Instead of using whole milk, try using condensed milk and mix in a chilled stainless steel bowl. I found that using the chilled bowl helps to keep it cold. Add whatever flavoring. I sometimes add fruit and nuts. The "ice cream" tastes kind of like Blue Bell. It is richer regardless. So good! . . .Warm weather person.

I prefer warm weather and the beach. It is fun to watch people who don't get much snow try a bunch of different things. We would never take the time to put oil on a shovel while we're shoveling because it depends on if the snow is wet or dry on whether it will stick to the shovel. We just shovel and if it gets stuck we just flip the shovel to the side and whack it on the ground to get the snow off.

Snow ice cream is also traditional snack in my family. I use sweetened condensed milk in mine, it makes it creamier. So good with the other ingredients you used also.

Take fresh snow put it in a brown paper bag filled with snow place it in your deep freeze and it will not turn hard and you can have snow cream in the summer. If it’s great just as fresh as in the winter. Promise it works. Try it ❤.

Shannon , I , like you , also grew up making snow ice cream , then for my kids and their kids (no long term effects so far 😂) And it’s not like it’s something you eat everyday 🙈 It’s just more of an “look what you can make with snow” experience! At some point along the way however, I tweaked the recipe by just adding Eagle Brand condensed milk to the snow ! I also caught the fresh falling snow in a clean bowl . No worries there with color changes 😂 except for the rich light caramel color brought on by the richness of the condensed milk 😊 Congrats on your courageous journey with your dental work ! I’ve been sleeping a lot to stay warm to be honest with you-I just can’t get my body moving and I’m only 56, yet I have a ton of injuries on my spinal cord and go numb from waist down after stand/sit for longer than 20 mins at a time. I grew up in northern Illinois, so cold isn't as bad as some say. However, the humidity in the summer is thebane of my existence! Colorado is practi ally perfect! As the temperature rises, the humidity goes down! So, while with humidity and summer temps in the eastern states rises, so do the temperatures. In Colorado the humidity goes DOWN on reallyhot days! That's a big win for me!

I live in Delaware , we got a few inches or so but now I am in bed VERY sick, fever chills body aches , 😢 it was 14 degrees last night but felt like 10 .. tonight and all day the very cold very dusty winds are going strong . Use a piece of plywood to "shovel" your snow off of large areas... it's so much faster! I live in Indiana, and we just got 5 inches of snow a few days ago, plus 4 more last night. I just finished shoveling my large driveway using plywood, and it only took 90 minutes vs. 4 to 5 hours with a shovel.

Being from Southern California, I prefer warm weather. Living in KY for 15 years didn't change that although the snow was beautiful. I live in Florida now where I am complaining about our high temp of 52. Those mason jar luminaries are gorgeous.
