Love the enthusiasm and dialogue...spoken like a true off-roader. You forgot to mention one really important fact with the electronics and to me is one of those things that confirm that Ducati are using their brain and is one of those little things that add so much to the experience. I saw that you can change rider modes while riding, no more stopping, waiting, restarting and all that annoying crap...this is brilliant and amazing. Simply change the mode (while riding) via the controls, close the throttle, open it again and boom...mode done. So this means you can change between dirt and road instantly. I think Duke have this perfect, other manufactues piss me off with these stupid overly controlled things.

Thank you for the video. I have seen some journalists trashing the DesertX Rally, but coming from a rider, I think it’s an objective and professional review. I have a T700, a 701 Omega Rally, a DesertX and a 2024 KTM 890 Rally for which I just bought the RebelX Rally kit (looks really low at the base of the windshield, just hope it’s just a visual effect). Will probably publish a comparison of the bikes. I was doubting about the switch from the DesertX to the Rally DesertX, and your video just ended all my doubts. Thank you again Manuel!

Glad to see your review, thanks! I’ve considered buying this bike multiple times (in rally form or standard form) but I can’t get past the air filter problem. I keep expecting reviewers to talk about this issue because I’m hoping Ducati does something to fix it. I might have had a desert X instead of my ‘23 890R if it weren’t for this issue. Multi day desert trips with friends, how do you change the air filter?

Great video! I have the ‘21 DDX and couldn’t be happier but for the suspension. Considering a Tractive Suspension, steering upgrade and other mods which as you highlight puts it close to the cost of the DDX Rally. A comparison test between the new Rally suspension and the Tractive Suspension upgrade would be really cool.
@moboost-nm6ss10 ай бұрын
I second this. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a DDX and would spend the extra money for the full aftermarket Tractive suspension upgrade. However, an objective comparison to that and the stock Rally suspension would be a great data point!

Really enjoyed this video. At the 24K euro price point, I would like your professional thoughts on Desert X Rally vs. 89O R Rally, specifically suspension and brakes). It seems the 890 has more aftermarket performance mods and easier to work on, ie air filter and oil change. Keep up the great vids!

Hi Manuel!! I happen to have this retro fantastic machine in a simple version!! It’s absolutely amazing machine!!! However….what I would like it to have: would be a more racing exhaust, at least 70/30 tires, a double stand and maybe some more hard handbars!! Opportunity be that as it may, it is an option to really enjoy for dirt ride options!!👍👍👍

thanks a lot Manuel for this review of this incredible machine. However, i would mentioned that's the facility of the maintenance is often forgotten within the reviews. It's particularly important for the bikes with offroad capacity like this desertx. For example, I'm asking some questions when i see that you must take down the fuel tank to access to the air filter for this machine . At least 30 min to do it and difficult to do in the middle of nowhere.

The fact is the previous version had a major construction flaw and they had to fix it somehow without damaging the brand. So they introduced the Rally version with the proper fix, and some enhancements. I will not tell publicly what it was, but it was there and many people riding the bike offroad learned about it the hard way.

@axxamit11 ай бұрын
@@paulaus sorry bro, I cannot do that. Let me just say that it was a structural problem. One that cannot be fixed in a garage. My only advice would be: if you plan on taking the bike to some serious offroading, the first DesertX is not the best option for you. With that said, it’s a perfectly good bike on the pavement. And very enjoyable, too. That’s all I can tell :)

Well priced? I don't think so. You add the cost of better part without discount the parts they are not using...and also the math shows smaller numbers. Always the same with paid influencers
@ManuelLucchese111 ай бұрын
As you may see on my channel I do bike builds and actually worked for Yamaha developing the T7 World Raid so for a competitor of Ducati. The prices I exposed are the ones you pay for I think maybe you are mixing enduro and adventure bikes where parts for adventure bikes are much more expensive. In any case this was my personal opinion as a bike builder and engineer but I accept your perspective which may be different and respect it
@31nerf11 ай бұрын
Thanks for answering, I love your channel and your work, I respect professionals that ask for the money of quality work. I've seen your builds and they deserve it. I keep thinking that swapping suspension in the factory shouldn't be adding the complete cost for the suspension, because the they're saving money not using the normal suspension...am I wrong? But Ducati said they want to sell exclusive products and the expensive prises seems the way. My opinion of course
@ManuelLucchese111 ай бұрын
@@31nerf thanks!! Yes I absolutely see your point and it’s true they save money providing the suspensions as oem but also that requires new homologations and in countries like Germany even if you bought a set of suspensions if they don’t have tuv approvement you can’t install them to use on the road. Then clearly also manufacturers have a scheme of Manufacturer - Distributor - Dealer - Client so every step requires a margin. If you look generally most adventure bikes have fusion parts and not cnc machined parts because also the cnc machining is a big cost compared to fusion. In any case Ducati’s have never been cheap and for sure you also pay the price of the brand but what I meant with the video is that given the context it’s a Ducati it is not that expensive for what you get if we compare it to other Ducati models or other similar brands
