I really wanted to like the 550, but the front benches just seem so short. It gives benefits with the bedroom size, but very tight for 4 sitting and relaxing in the lounge area. Never sure about having the toilet cassette in the awning either.

Thank you for watching, yes, I prefer a longer lounge seat for relaxing and getting laid out on.. 😊👍

Elddis uses GRP sides, underneath, and on top - but why, oh why, use ABS end panel that can't be repaired if cracked and are only warrantied for 1year (check the booklet carefully!). Says it all really. Cost to replace a cracked abs plastic panel ~ £4500.

Thank you for watching and I guess you found this out the hard way.. I have heard of cracking on the front, happened to my friend.

ditto. we had cracking + repeat cracking after a new panel replacement - avoid ABS like the plague if you want to avoid this heartache.

Great presentation. Shame that for that sort of money, Elddis still build vans that require wallpaper tape to ‘hide’ the wall joins and furniture pegs to hold the furniture in place. Such a shame when they have some innovative layouts

Come on Elddis. You call this your 2024 models, but it looks exactly the same as the 2023 models and the 2022 models. In fact we looked at an 860 in 2019 and it looks exactly the same. They're light and airy yes, but just utterly boring. Unlike other manufacturers, they can't even have a jazzy splashback in the kitchen to just lift the dullness and that can't cost much to put in. Bailey and Swift have their faults but at least they try with a bit of design flair.

Elddis only give a 12 month warranty on all plastic components ie front and rear panels, windows etc, so be warned.

First question to ask before even looking at ELDDIS is whether there is a dealer/service centre that will touch them.I’ve had a 554 caravan since 2019 with loads of problems, mostly with damp.Once you purchase one of these vans, have your annual services in order to keep the warranty, when damp is found (excuse the pun) that’s when the rot sets in.Finding a company that will attempt this work is a nightmare, you either have to wait months before they can start the work Or you have to travel miles to deliver it to a company that will attempt the , once ELDDIS have sanctioned the repair

I think Elddis do the best interiors and layouts. They nearly always look light and spacious. Agree on the bathroom, needs a bit of bling but the Elddis Crusader and Buccaneer bathrooms are the best out there in my opinion. I used to have a Compass Casita 860 and thought the space and colour scheme was brilliant and we blinged up the bathroom with our own touches and it looked great. However, the not so ‘SoLiD’ construction is the issue for me with these vans (and the cheap looking door handle). My Casita was only 3 years old and started to develop damp issues. Whilst I think they are the best designed vans, I will never buy one again until they stop using wood frames. They're not impervious to water as Elddis claim. I’ve experienced first-hand the damage that can be caused to wood frames by water ingress on a Bailey and it involved replacing the whole front quarter framework. The Crusader Zephyr is prob my top van with fewest compromises, but just waiting for Elddis to move with the times and start using damp/rot proof materials.
