In case you're not aware, the "clickable bracket" is commonly referred to as "DIN Rail" and is often used in factories and inside heavy machinery. You can get all sorts of fun little bits that will click onto DIN Rail and happily sit next to each other. For example, I've got a section of rail about a foot long that handles my shore power. I've got an outlet before the circuit breaker for running tools, the main circuit breaker, then a voltage & amperage meter showing consumption of my system, then another outlet after the circuit breaker.

Cheers Paul! I don't think it would suit the channel though if I started referring to things by their correct terms. I hope you liked the charger you're responsible for!

@@AlexHibbertOriginals fair enough! I wanted to make sure you knew the details in case it helped finding future things. Yes I'm quiet thankful to have helped out (left another comment below with a timestamp). I believe my increased monthly payments are going through now? If not let me know. I want all the best for you and Alan!

The line cutter is brilliant! We used ours in a midnight turtle rescue whilst being slammed into the bow of a boat in a 5 foot swell. It cut through the lines trapping the turtle like a hot knife through butter. No turtle or human was injured, but we did get wet.

Blue boxes like to be well cooled so mounting cooling fins horizontally is not efficient

Ours sit in our engine room and the ambient temp in our saloon is over 30°C for the next 4 months, the engine room is uncomfortably warm. Of all the gear we have, the blue boxes are the best and most stable. I probably should move them but my options are limited. If only I was Antarctic bound...no the Southern Ocean is a bother.

That circuit you showed up on the screen regarding the charging circuits has some weird things going on regarding the switch symbols: some of the switches are shorted, meaning opening them does nothing, others are in parallel, meaning they both need to be off in order to actually disconnect the top charger.. you might want to look at that.
@AlexHibbertOriginals
@AlexHibbertOriginals 9 ай бұрын
Yes, the charging wires in the central bit through the two pairs of batteries wouldn't not 'connect' to the wires running at right angles. It's more that I'm not familiar with the sketching software. Don't worry, nothing will short.

Absolutely commendable, seeing you tirelessly work to upgrade Allen and add bits and bobs here and there to keep Allen up to date. Would you at some point consider cultivate refinement to your aesthetics within Allen? A step away from rudimentary aesthetic and towards a little bit of wow factor to your designs

Seeing you cutting, with the Queensferry Crossing in the background made me say “Bugger” out loud. I must have driven past Alan at least 6 times over the weekend just gone, I could have tried to get a peek of him in the flesh! Not you of course, just the boat.

How are the external led lights holding up? Any signs of moisture ingress or corrosion at all? I'm thinking about getting some for my tractor. If they can handle a marine environment they should be ok for agri

EVRI are still a shambles, just this week the guy handed me a parcel and I opened it to find a cat mug inside, at which point I realised it wasn't for me. I ran back out and stopped the van before it left and handed it back to him. Somebody will be getting an opened package. I understand that mistakes happen, but EVRI seem to hire jokers and run the business with little care.

Nice work, I like the grab hand especially. Regards bolts coming through to the seating area, are you going to put another piece with appropriate holes there as a facing plate to bring the bolt ends and nuts either level with the foam layer or just below it? I am just thinking that, unless the foam padding is very dense / thick, people are still going to be able to feel the nuts through the foam. That may be okay for short term use but long term? I can't say how much I dislike that new bridge, I drove over it in the dark, when it was foggy a few years ago and ever since, I have harboured an intense loathing for it.
@AlexHibbertOriginals
@AlexHibbertOriginals 9 ай бұрын
At least the new bridge will take the weight of your car! Don't worry about the bolts. There's to be a double layer of closed cell foam, and then soft cushions on top. You won't feel the bolt heads. Cheers.

Every time the "recreation area" is mentioned I get a mental image of two guys trying to play tennis in that space. That aside, and it may have been addressed earlier, but I avoid particle board/ MDF like the plague, particularly when there's a chance it may get wet or even just damp from humidity. It's only strength (as far as I've noticed) is for when you need a perfectly flat surface with no chance of a warp; but its literal strength is pitiful, an errant blow from a tool or even an elbow can crack or put a hole in it, anchors placed in it tend to rip out (so those washers were absolutely necessary). When it gets wet it swells and then rot spreads through the material. Being right next to the recreation area it's only a matter of time until a hockey stick or cricket bat puts a hole in it. So why not plywood?
@AlexHibbertOriginals
@AlexHibbertOriginals 9 ай бұрын
I've found these boards to be really resilient and impregnated against humid swelling, but yes, if there's an issue I can easily swap them out. I like the stiffness, lack of ply warp and delam, and wipe clean surface. We'll see! And no cricket.....!

Oh I had no idea it was the goal to locate the boat well its close to The Queensferry Crossing Probably at Neptune Marine Services just a guess it took me like 10 seconds on google to reverse image the background location. Idk why its such a big deal though Keep up the awesome work and awesome footage thanks for telling us to look up its location.

I've long since resigned myself to knowing that people will work out where Alan's yards are. I just wanted some context for the vapour trail video clip. That said, I do have a responsibility to the yard/marina staff to avoid people turning up and wanting to see social media boats. I've also had an attempted break-in.

@@AlexHibbertOriginals Actually technically you can't hide.. With the way boating is setup I believe you can electronically trace just about any boat put into the water and replay that data through its code or what ever. Just like I am a Ham operator and the US FCC publicly lists all our addresses out for the public to know and see. We have no privacy. However I am not going to just show up and start harassing the Marina or bothering you either with out some sort of notification or notice or conversation prior. That's called being respectful for ones personal privacy and work. But I suppose there are crazies out there that will do that crap.. Just remember its not your fault its theirs in the first place.. It's just like here in the US when we deal with Swatters legally it's not you the streamer etc its the one that called it in. But still its a big mess and a bunch of BS for hours to deal with.
