Since they refuse to release new Chaos Bikers and/or that rumor was just false/wishlisting, I wouldn't be surprised at all if GW simply up and deletes Doomrider + Chaos Bikes from the game... Maybe if they're feeling generous they'll toss out a Legends datasheet for the Bikers.

I suspect that more likely to just remove the bikes as they are all old. If they were really feeling generous then they would give choas some of the heresy items that the loyalist long since retired, but I doubt it sadly. Maybe one day they'll change their mind about game separation...

The reason they are going Cataphractii over Tartaros, is so that you cannot really double dip. They don't like it when you can use models in multiple systems. Same thing happened with Deathshroud Terminators. The resin Phoenix Terminators in Tartaros would stop selling overnight, can't have that..

The issue with adding an upgrade kit for something like Emperor’s Children is that EC won’t be able to take normal Chaos Space Marines. The four Chaos God Legions are exclusive ranges, whereas the Dark Angels can take any unit a normal Space Marines army can. Space Marine armies are built like Indexes, where it adds to the baseline. EC, DG, WE, and TS are wholly unique armies.

My personal suggestion for an addition to the upcoming Emperors Children would be a character that is no Astartes at all, but has close ties to the third Legion: Miriael Sabathiel, the fallen Sororitas. Lorewise, she is very special as the first Sororitas to fall to Chaos (more precisely, to Slaanesh) and could have gotten a big powerup by the dark prince, either being an extremely powerful mortal Champion or a demon princess, created as a counter-measure against Ephrael Stern, ideally strong enough to kill the Daemonifuge- after all, who's better to hunt down a former Sororitas than a former Sororitas? I imagine her being worshipped by the Noise Marines as some kind of blessed Lady (her model maybe being dubbed "The sacred maiden"), when she's actually a horrifying and grotesque figure standing on top of a pile of mutilated and slaughtered battlesisters 😈 Any thoughts on this?

I am curious what their army rule will be. Emperors children are strange in that they tend to be a melee focussed faction, but their cult marines are dedicated ranged units. I liked their rules which gave them general benefits that were not melee or ranged specific. Eidolon not being apart of the legion release would be super strange since he is the only major leader that actively wants to rebuild the legion. Not even fulgrim wants that XD

I could see some models that were in the lore at least Eldar specialists, where the dead decorations Chaos uses being dedicated to them. For against Striking Scorpions & Howling Banshees this cyborg & mutated Space Marine with inspiration of Fulgrim snake bottom & extra arms. The hunters of the Shining Spears would be a Jet Bike unit.

Hmm... Phoenix Guard Terminator armour looks more like Tartaros pattern for me. Cataphractii pattern is in my opinion counter climactic in army that favors speed and agility.

Their first captain who's in cataphractii is noted to be bizarrely quick for someone wearing terminator armour, they could justify it as some blessing of Slaanesh giving them speed that wouldn't be available to other forces.

And Tartaros looks more sophisticated so more akin to Fulgrim sons tastes. But maybe Tartaros pattern for Phoenix Guard and Cataphractii pattern for "normal" terminators?

I feel like the new HQs will be lord variants, like the Nurgle variations. A terminator one, a power armoured one and a special character (Lucius) and of course Fulgrim too. And I doubt they’ll get much by way of new stuff, slaaneshi cultists, noise marines, and an elite variation of Emperors children perhaps. A bit like the eightfold berzerkers.

If the Night Lords set is any indication, it fels like the direction they've been moving with in has been to have unique sets for the cult units/legions, and upgrades for the independent legions, with the expectation of kitbashing the Black Legion with cult kits if you want something in between those extremes.

I would be surprised if they introduce another named character for the EC. Looking at the other 3 Chaos factions, they all have one Primarch and one named character (unless I am mistaken). So it might just be an EC-exclusive HQ unit, but no one named besides Lucius

Valrak, I strongly agree with the upgrade sprue recommendation. It works well for Necromunda gangs and Dark Angels. It should happen across a range of units, including Chaos chapters, Astra Militarum regiments etc.

I think with modern emperor's children, everybody is more selfish about personal desires rather than being a unified legion for a greater goal. If anything, it would have to be either Lucius or Fulgrim commanding, promising either greater experiences or revenge to even bring them in.

the last book has some pretty cool characters in that renegade band. The main guy Xantine would make a fine figure with his demon companion. The noise marine has a huge musical instrument with people attached to it that could also make for a cool mini. There is also a Fabius Bile`s creation... The book is no Lords of Silence but the characters are quite interesting.

I have a massive Emperor's Children army and I am so torn in my excitement because most of my Army will not carry over when looking at Death Guard, World Eaters and Thousand Sons. I will basically have a massive Slaneshi War band and have to start a whole new army to play actual "Emperor's Children". Mixed emotions for sure! I wish that traitor legions functioned like loyal legions and could use all base CSM units plus their specific ones. I love how my Blood Angels have their specific units and access to all of the SM range. I would be over the moon if 10th made this change. I would be fine with restrictions such as only one type of Terminator and either or rulings to maintain balance etc.

I don't want to see upgrade kits for the dedicated Chaos god legions. I only want to see unique kits for them. I'd also like to see a unique heavy weapons team for EC. I just hope that the fidelity of the designs are there, as the majority of the models for World Eaters were really cheesy. I don't want Darren Latham designing Fulgrim, I want the guy that designed Abaddon to spearhead all of the major Chaos designs.

So it’s gonna be like WE launch? Basic Marines, Primarch, 2 named Characters probably, Special Unit (Eightbound - Terminators), Some Flavor Units. Sooo I fear they are gonna be in the same state for a few years in which they need more kits to be apart of them otherwise you get like 1-2 Combat Patrols, Primarch and the characters + 2 boxes special units like the World Eatees are right now.

If Eidolon isn't part of the initial range refresh then I'm not interested in Starting. Might grab Lucuis as a model but Daemon Primarch Fulgrim holds no interest to me other than a gaming piece. Noise Marines and such will be nice models but if I can't use Eidolon as his own character in 40k then GW just lost my funds towards EC. Wallet saved!
