I came to NZ in 2012 on student permit seeking greener pastures and better lifestyle. I studied graduate diploma in Highway Engineering level 7from NZIHT, WITT which was on the skilled shortage list. But after completion, I couldn't find a job(not even an entry level). I studied so hard during the course thinking I would get a job. All my friends who did Business management courses found a job through hook and crook from Asian employers and got residence approved. But, I wanted to be fair to the NZ system and genuinely looked for a job in vain. Every time I make an application, I drew a blank mainly because of my visa status. I faced catch 22 situation: most employers needed a PR candidate but for being a PR I needed to have a job offer on hand which streamlines PR journey

What about if I want to renew my visa do the employer advertise the position first?
