Today's modern times reptiles are put in these amazing enclosures. It makes me feel so bad. about 30 years ago one of my husband's friends gave us an iguana. He was huge. And he came in like a 20 gallon fish tank. He came with a branch and a heat rock that was it. We fed him some vegetables and mealworms. We didn't know what the hell we were doing. Thank God we let a guy take Larry because he had a iguana Sanctuary. So Larry got to spend the rest of his life in a beautiful place with other iguanas. I'm so into watching all these reptile channels now and I just feel terrible that we had no clue what to do with that beautiful big iguana. One day that little sucker got up on his hind legs and sprinted across the floor like a goddamn Velociraptor!!🐊🦖. It scared the crap out of me...I won't never forget that.!!

very late on this, and pardon if this is out of line, but I have a suggestion for more things you could add to her enclosure to make it more interactive and interesting for her! - 'hardscape', some rocks for her to rub off her shed with. this can help alot with reptiles who have had stuck shed problems and can just generally help with future sheds - more wood or rocks for her to climb on and explore - several little hides for her to chill in if her UV gets to be too much! having designated basking areas can really help with these things Im not an expert by any means, nor do I know the full extent of your heating/lighting setups (or if the enclosure will become more dense as you get more stuff), but it was just a couple suggestions ^^ you did a great thing rescuing Sayler, the world needs more good people like you. keep up the good work!

Like you, I love animals more than humans. My cats and dogs are my babies. I can't keep reptiles bc Tempest, my big cat would hunt them. Just yesterday, he decided I wasn't eating enough and left me a squirrel on my doorstep. And he has a bell collar on his neck! So I just have to go and love on them at PetSmart.

I have two of their pvc enclosures. I'd say my biggest gripe is balancing ventilation with keeping in humidity. This is a huge struggle as I live in Las Vegas. I'd LOVE for them to release side panels with cross ventilation. I use the acrylic sheet on the top to cover 80%, and put my ceramic heat emitters on the open mesh. It works for my boas, but most lizards appreciate more ventilation so you end up needing the whole top open. I also use a fogger on one and a mist king on the other which helps but I would think would be necessary for animals where you need the entire top open. I have seen people use silicone to attach shower curtain rod holders to the sides and rest bamboo sticks or branches, but if you could find something like that with very strong magnets you'd have more flexibility to love things around. Best of luck!

Nice viv for a juvenile and I realise that she probably knows that this viv wont last the iggie for life considering she could easily reach 4-5 ft in length so this won't last her that long (males can groe up to 6 ½ft but average is round about 6ft). So many of these stunning reptiles end up abused like this one did originally (mainly cos they are cheap to buy yet grow to a huge size) She does look a lot better now than she did 🐱

Great Stuff Foam and regular silicone. You can make backgrounds with it and then seal it with water based drylock which you can tint or get clear. I use the Pond and Rock great stuff foam since it's black then I carve it down a little after it's expanded and dried then seal it and you can press substrate like dirt, cork bark flat pieces, moss etc onto the foam with the silicone. For branches I always use silicone to attach them to the surface first then foam over the ends and then carve a seal as follows. Makes for some really awesome naturalistic enclosures.
