Thank you for recommending people don't go Sleepy Hollow Farm. It will be closed this fall as it's not a tourist attraction, it's a private residence. The crowds are very disruptive to the road. They block emergency vehicles, urinate on private property and leave trash. One of the residents said that a tour bus pulled up, removed the "no parking signs" in their driveway, pulled into their driveway, and 50 people got out onto their lawn to take photos of the Farm. The people in the area report tourists sending drones up to photograph around their property, violating property. The towns of Woodstock and Pomfret are considering blocking traffic to all people except residents this fall. It's important to understand that these are private homes, and it is very stressful to have throngs of people photographing your private house.

I was watching Vermont videos-and this came up as a suggested video. Stayed at The Shire-so many time I lost count. It was our home base until we finally found a place in Newfane to build. But man-i could just chill all day in the center of the town on (the Greene) and just turn off my mind and listen to the wind. It honestly is one of the most amazing quaint and charming towns Ive ever stayed in!!! Thank you for sharing.

I liked your video. I realize this is an old video but since I used to live there i thought I would add a few comments. I agree with another commenter that spring is a better time to visit. Less obnoxious "leaf peepers" and it is a beautiful time of year. Wildflower walks in the woods around Pogue Hole pond and the Mount Tom trails will be lovely. It is pronounced Kweechee by the way and the gorge is something to see in spring too with the winter run off waters high. Some of the shops in town have been there a long time. The Yankee Bookshop, The Unicorn and Who is Sylvia are all great places to see, along with the Clover gift shop. My friend Virginia was the original owner of Who is Sylvia and I worked there for a few years. I believe it may have closed recently thogh I am not sure. Sad if it did, a great vintage clothing store. Woodstock is a beautiful town to visit, no doubt. A great place to grow up.

As someone who lived in Vermont for 16 years. I can tell you that the best time to visit Vermont is in the spring. I loved your video. I have spent many great days in Woodstock. I also went camping at the gorg several times and went swimming in it!

Thank you! I don’t recall having to pay to do the hike I did. The viewpoint is on the main road, so no cost there. And the trail entrance is around the corner, by the shops. Hope you have an excellent trip! 😊
