I then tried a similar Ibenez model and it felt like I was playing a piece of driftwood someone had brought in from the beach adn hung on the wall. Paid $499 for it and it has been work every penny. Ok I got this and then changed it for a Ibanez as93 FM . I preferred the Ibanez . The epiphone fretboard either needed further setting up or there was some fret filing required(ie high frets). The Ibanez fretboard was precise out of the box. The pickups on the Ibanez sounded better to me although the epiphone pickups still sounded quite good. The Ibanez felt and looked slightly more premium with its more flashy top and solid feel and ebony fretboard. Great guitars and some of it subjective/personal preference etc

I really like that they have put the lock tone bridges on these. I have a 2015 Gibson satin cherry 335 that has one and they are great. I started with Epi’s in the 90’s and ‘upgraded’ to Gibson’s over the years. My advice to to anyone starting out that’s prefers Les Pauls , SG’s and 335’s to Fenders is stick with Epiphone. They are looking and sounding better than ever and if you gig week in and week out they are all you need. Gibson’s are still amazing but if you’re playing pubs then Epiphones just make more sense.

NICE JOB Epiphone, on this 'Inspired by Gibson' series, they've put out. I'm a guy, that simply can't afford $4,000 for the 'real deal', and this is an AWESOME alternative for Wayyyy Under, $1,000!!
