Speaking as someone who has since permanently moved to Runeterra - so many of these changes were needed so long ago. The core set, the redesign of the dragons, addressing the presence and usage of spell damage overall... glad it's happening, but man this took a while.

@@emperoremperor7514 Everyone is anxious for the next balance patch in a couple weeks, but imo it remains easily the best digital card game on the market right now. The recent set had a ton of great concepts and really incredible animations, and chances are they’ll all shine a bit brighter when things from a previous expansion get toned down shortly. More than anything it offers the kind of back-and-forth interactive gameplay I missed from Magic when playing HS. It’s definitely a lot more skill intensive, and while there’s some overpowered champs at the moment, Riot has had a strong track record of making good balance changes (at least by comparison to most their competitors). I’d highly recommend checking it out, the barrier to entry is super low and you can assemble pretty much any deck you want after only a bit of consistent play.

I am most excited for the mini sets. While it means using gold or money, the guaranteed legendaries are pretty valuable. Not to mention, if the set isn't good enough for someone, they can still open most of the mini set with the new duplication protection system. I do hope all these changes and additions spice up the game. The card I am most looking forward to currently is the new hunter mercenary, as it seems to have a lot of fun combos with it.

I plan to open 100 packs purchased with gold. This will be the first time I will be able to do such thing! I never had so much gold! I am the kind of guy who saves all gold earned throughout the expansion and then spends it all on packs once a new expansion releases. For me it was usually around 70 to 80 packs (7000 - 8000 gold). This time it is different. Forgded in Barrens launches in 10 days and I have already more then 10500 Gold. (I did not buy the darkmoon races miniset for 2k tho - instead I have opened 30ish packs I had saved up which got me almost everything) In my opinion the battlepass was at the end of the day really well done because as you can see I have more gold then ever. Heck this will even be the first time in my life I will not spend it all at once. Like I said in the beginning I plan to "only" open 100 packs and save the rest of my gold for the miniset. Overall I am really excited about the new expansion. Although it is a bit sad that the new diamond cards will be free to play locked (belive it or not I am part of the majority who does not spend money on HS at all) Because I started playing around TGT era I am looking forward to Classic mode. And thats about it. :)

I used to open 20-30 packs with my gold on day 1 of the expansion, this time I'm opening 55-60 packs with my gold, and that is after spending 2000 gold on the miniset, so yeah, I'd say the rewards track is more profitable than the previous system

Considering that you'll certainly get all of the common and rare cards from either of the card bundles, maybe a better metric is not how many cards you get per $, but how many epic or legendary cards you get. The only reason you get fewer cards per $ from the $80 pack is because more cards from that bundle will be duplicates. The $80 pack actually gets you slightly fewer legendary cards per pack, but it also comes with additional value. You'd also get more choice in which legendaries you get, considering that you get at least two golden legendaries which could be dusted in exchange for any other legendary if you don't get the one you want.

Very informative video. I planning to open between 60 and 70 packs. It absolutely sucks that the achievements of Dark Moon Faire don't give XP. Cards that will leave Standard there are in Wild already, the sets are not something that will "go to Wild format", so: -2:36 wild exclusive* -3:35 exclusive wild mode* or rotating out from Standard*.

As a F2P Wild Player I open ~30 packs at release to get all commons, then wait for mini set to release buy it out right and then open more packs. I get to Diamond 10 most seasons so I have ~40 additional free packs from rewards track and the missing rare are usually filled in by Ranked rewards by the time the mini set releases. Also with Tavern Brawl now giving more packs I will increase the amount of free packs to ~50 a season? I usually decraft all gold card if it is not used in anydecks but keep all commons. In f2P patience is key :)

I feel with the spell schools warrior spells dont quite fit into any of the current groups. If there were a War school, that could work, would take care of weapon and armor related spells also would help rogue and paladin

Both options are good. Save 2000 gold, open packs, if you don't get enough cards spend additional 2000 gold. You definitely shouldn't keep gold if your collection doesn't allow you to enjoy the game. :]

Wait a second I need some help here. I started playing hearthstone about 2-4 months ago, and while don't have too many cards, I'd certainly like to capitalize on all the dust I can get. I watched the 3 last videos uploaded to this channel which does make me feel stupid when I have to say I still don't understand what I should keep. I don't/won't play wild, I'm only interested in the decks that'll be meta in climbing the ladder, which also happen to be the ones played in pro play. but there's this thing about Classic and Standard, I didn't know they were different, and I'm very lost on which cards I should disenchant and keep. So i have a question on bg perks. The only ways to get it are: the big bundle prepurchase, paying 20$ during the expansion and for 650 gold only very late in the expansion. Is this right? There's no buying the perks with gold at the start of the expansion?

You can buy perks for gold at any time. At the beginning of the expansion phase, the cost is 2500 gold or $ 20 (I hope I remember the cost correctly). During the expansion phase, the cost of perks is gradually reduced.

In the darmoon fair I caught up on some of the older adventures like explorers league, and galakronds awakening, so this time Ill only be able to open around 30 barrens packs, all for gold. I also want to mension that I decided not to buy darkmoon races since I didnt want to miss out on 20 new packs.
