NEW EXCITING Game Mode in GeoGuessr (How to Play & Impressions)

It would be nice to have a few games of just the city that you are in, where you have to basically 5k the stuff to get full points and then maybe some games on the country you are in. These locations feel random as they are chosen from the world map.

9:46 Festus, MO is a city in Missouri, of which "MO" is an abbreviation for. I guess that bus company was based in that U.S. city, so that was a little tricky! I like the new modes. These seems great for newcomers to GG.

The idea is very nice. It's way more clever and fun for a end user to visit locations and get facts and all of that. One thing that doesn't feel right, in my opinion of course, is the feeling of randomness you get. You were in Paris or Istanbul but then you would get squares or museums from all over the world which is a bit confusing. I liked a lot the idea on Map Runner where you only had few countries to chose from.

Interesting, watched zigzag earlier with the (I think) exact same set of locations for games one and two. Is there any randonmess to it after a certain amount of games, or is it fully on rails? And is there the ability to replay it after getting around the globe (and with different locations?)

First locations are predefined, but letter on, I believe they are chosen at random from the corresponding map

I noticed this, too, and was just about to comment on it....that if everyone gets the same rounds, then anyone could game the game, as it were, having seen those rounds on KZbin.

I have a dought about the game mode: if we use one apple, for example, when can we get an apple back to our inventory?

I think the items you get are all you get for the trip around the world but I'm not 100% sure

The new mode is pretty fun though, but why did they remove the maprunner?🙁 Also I was wondering what's the collection used for?

This is the next iteration of MapRunner, and we'll keep working on it :) Collections are for learning new tips about the countries you have visited.

Too easy even for newbies; too confusing with all the mechanics and choices. Why am I eating apples? I don't play it. Nobody I know plays it. The idea of a world tour is nice, but I'd rather see custom-tailored maps meant to train important skills. That would be good for new players, and FUN - it feels great when you learn how to distinguish Russia from Kyrgyzstan, Mexico from Bolivia, etc. For example: The plane stops in Eastern Europe. You have to guess between Russia, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. It gives you tips (like how only Ukrainian has the Latin-style i; how Bulgaria has Balkan-style architecture), and shows you impressive local sights and scenes that the average person doesn't know about. You get to explore the world, and learn about the world, and refine your skills in a way that you can show off to your friends (well, I knew it had to be Ukraine because of the letter i...). You can keep going with difficulty to keep veterans entertained: Bollard gazing, Polish trees, random islands in the middle of nowhere, every alphabet in India, soil meta...

Interesting mode. I checked it out, and my friend, who has never played before, seemed really interested in it. Not really for me, though - I wish impossible (at least) had more rural rounds. Do you perchance know why quickplay was removed? I really liked the feature 🫡

I agree, that impossible should have harder locations, too. I'm a bit sad about quickplay being removed, but I hope we can add something just as good back in a later update
