Ninurta-Apal-Ekur of Hanigalbat took the throne of Assyria for himself; so while the minor faction Assyria starts as the king, historically, he wouldn't keep it for long. That's why Hanigalbat is the major faction and Assyria-proper is the minor faction. (luckily we'll be able to move our capitals)

I've been enjoying Total War: Pharoah since it launched, but, I was always hopeful that we'd get a map expansion. To see that it's actually happening and includes Mesopotamia is very exciting and I really appreciate you taking your time to give us the historical background of these factions!

10:25 The main reason for the calvary focus is to appeased total war players who complained about the lack of calvary in Total War pharaoh. They didn't like the combat, because of the lack of calvary and the chariots not fulfilling the role that calvary had in previous total war games well.

I think form a more historic pov it’s because in Assyrian art work you have a mix of cavalry and chariots.

Update: Merneptah's death is no longer scripted. Therefore, he can live years longer than he did historically or be made an immortal. Also, the turns for each year can be customized up to 12 turns for each year.

Cool video Oldest Stories, as always. Tbh, if we will get more DLCs for Pharaoh it seems that we will get Dorians, Kaskans, Habiru and/or Meshwesh. It's strange that they are not listed in faction list, I think they are too important for bronze age collapse game.

The next vid will be out soon, but I assume meswesh will be indirectly represented by those western oasis provinces in egypt, and I bet they don't touch habiru or anything close to hebrew. Northern invaders with similar mechanics to sea people is a good DLC bet, though.
