NEW Fafnir vs Every Myth Unit | (Equal Resources) Age of Mythology: Retold

Both team have a major gods that doesn't affect myth units, both are at the mythic age but without any technology researched.
Fafnir Cost: 300 Gold, 35 Favor.
Here I consider 100 Food = 100 Wood = 100 Gold = 10 Favor.
Of course this is not an accurate scenario that would realistically happen in game, there is no Micro or macro, this is really only there to show how well they do against each other with equal resources. In this scenario Fafnir is particularly good against lots of units because of its poison and AOE fire.

Only counters are melee heroes (or ranged h on melee range) for them to tank heka giants. or lots of frost giants or medusas, but the latter no longer instakill

and seems they were both a bit too strong AND bugged. Post-patch, they are way less nasty, no longer hitting what they cant throw with the ability more than once, and on top the damage of the ability against myth units was greatly reduced

it does (20 hack damage plus 25 crush damage) X3 against myth unit, that should not be enough to kill them, maybe there is a bug where it hit them multiple times, cause they instantly die

I think what happened is that all of their special attacks got combined into one super attack where all of them did damage together. It would be like if one unit was surrounded by Avengers and they all did their whirlwind spins together against that one unit.

Heka giants ability basically proc 2 times due to a bug (the first hit does normal dmg as it should be, the second bug hit does an insane amout of dmg that isnt supposed to happen😂). Also they need to fix the poor optimization in terms of performance on that ability. You can clearly notice how ti melted your fps when they casted their shockwave ability. Same goes for the earthquake for example, that god power completely annihilate your fps. There are orher performance issues in the game that should be fixed asap tbh.

@@SatharielBattle It's due to their mass : The Heca giant is supposed to send targets flying with it's ability. The target gets hit by the shockwave, then is sent flying. The issue with Fafnir is that he's too heavy to be tossed around (like the Greek colossus). So the shockwave cannot send him flying and thus keeps applying it's damage as it passes through Fafnir's hitbox.

@@wilneravila2372 Stacking poison damage. So they are good against BIG hp targets with slow movement speed. Put that same fight but cavalry instead of fafnir and they'll just get rushed down. Definently a big buff compared to original though!

@@krisdc4053 I'm pretty sure it did have bonus damage vs myth units before, yes, it's purely a building destroyer and for tanking damage now. Medusa isn't very good anymore either, so really, i think chimera is the only good myth unit in age 4 for the greeks. But then, just spam hydras and you will be fine, they are that good.

The trick to Argus is to keep your units moving. If they stay in the acid pool too long they end up taking a ton of damage.

I think the units should get any upgrade that is tied to their minor god. Also if they are not available without a bonus ( like chimeras who either have more speed or more hp) or you can't dodge a tech (both dyonisus and appollo improve medusas in some way) then they should have the bonus/tech.

I did but ran into some issues with mobs that throw other mobs, like minotaur, they can yeet them over the edge and be stuck there. It might work with video like this one since they are not affected by being thrown. i'll see what I can do :)

Heka gigantes just looks broken, and so does the hydra. This new unit looks quite strong, but a tier below the very best, also, the other units dont have the big drawback of giving your enemy a bunch of resources when killed.

Well this challenge doesnt make sense, because fafnir is an age IV myth unit and every other myth unit gets hp when advancing in age > so both players need to be age IV to actually compare them this way

@@wilneravila2372 I guess wadjets have pretty ok DPS now + they get some sort of stacking poison, they are at least partly good now. The only problem with all around myth deathballs is it's SIZE, I had like 20 colossus + hydras + 50 archers (on the first Gargarensis appearing map) and it was so hard to micro my death ball to actually hit anything, they are too big and chonky, so again the main rule of RTS: range>melee is applied again.

i think the problem with centimanes is that they does not seem to do one instance of damage but at least twice ... the centered one around them and also for that hitbox is that huge the fafnir get also the wave. Not sure if they wave is one instance of damage so or defined as for or 5 fast occurring damage events . Its always funny to abuse hit box seizes in Games but thats not healthy for pvp ... that for sure works great vs titans too somebody needs to test that please

Everytime I see one of this videos there is some brightless person in the comments saying: "is not the same amount of units", "equal resources" or "they are from different ages". Ok we get it, you are an expert and your entire life revolves around this game; However, normal people are here just because we like to see the units fight and sometimes we are surprised when the underdog wins (like the snakes at the end)

Lampades makes enemy units become neutral. The battle between lampades and fafnir is very likely to have been a draw, I mean, it is very likely that the fafnir that survived were no longer under control of its owner at the end of the fight, but this part of the video was finished before we knew it precisely.

They changed it in retold so that the chaos effect makes them hostile to all for its duration, but they return to the control of the player afterwards. You can tell since they still have blue colors instead of brown.

Also, upgrade the units at maximum, Fafnir is a IV age unit, so it's naturally stronger than other units, if all is completely upgraded it will be a better comparison
