Absolutely, do not use soap on a cast iron skillet. It cause rusting. Right after use, just add hot water and let sit on stove while the eye is still hot ❤😊

Hi Shyvonne, start seasoning your cast iron. After you wash them, oil them on the inside with whatever oil you cook with, and then put them in the oven for about an hour. The first time you do it, let the pan cool and repeat. Believe it or not, cast iron can become non-stick. Once you pans become somewhat non-stick, don't use soap in them. I hope this helps.

Cast iron skillets are an art form in how to use properly. I certainly don’t have it down. But I do not use soap. They are naturally anti microbial when heated so soap isn’t necessary and actually damaging. Oil and paper towel (water in some situations ) and heat are the only cleaning products you need for cast iron. Once it’s cured properly it becomes more non stick. It’s not 100% but it’s better than when you wash with soap and store.

Baby Boy Blue will be turning eighteen soon, girl the time is flying right on by. Shyvonne you’re absolutely correct about finding whatever you want on Amazon… I missed placed the key to my deep freezer, not that I needed to lock it begin that I live alone lol. I just wanted it smh. We’re a mess, lol. Low and behold, I entered the freezer brand, boom there they were, two keys for less then $20.00. I ordered them, called myself putting them up, now I can’t find them… Am I the ONLY person that does that? That’s a BIG 🤦🏽‍♀️. I did the opposite with the floors, you did right by NOT doing the white… I put white tiles on my bathroom floor, I love the look, but girl they pick up EVERYTHING on the bottom of your slippers, I hate walking bare feet even on carpet if I had some. I’ve always loved parquet floors instead of carpets (Don’t hate me y’all I’m just saying) mind you again I live alone and no one wear shoes when they visit’s. White floors are definitely a magnet for dirt dust,and scrapes. PERIOD!!! You have enough to clean… 🤗🤗🤗

You are so right about the fruit philosophy and kids. My boys (now adults) would not eat oranges ever but I noticed at soccer and ball games they ate them. They would always be in a bowl and quartered with the peel still on so I thought, hmmm, I could do the same at home and voila, the oranges were eaten then and if I put a quartered up orange in a baggie for a school lunch they ate it then too. Go figure!, lol

Hey Shyvonne, non stick pans are very convenient and easy to clean. But, you know what they say that nonstick are the most toxic pans that have PTFA and teflon. Ceramic pans are a safer option, try those. And cast iron and stainless steel are considered to be the safest cookware. And cast iron is supposed to be naturally non-stick, so for me its pretty easy to clean (mine are from Lodge - Walmart). And I love stainless steel pans, I use those daily.

The cast iron pan should be seasoned with oil and placed in the oven to heat for a hour or so…Never leave water in it as it will rust…always wipe clean after use…dry it immediately and repeat the oil process if necessary. It will definitely become non stick.

Cast iron pan try putting a little dish liquid and water put on stove top and let it come to a boil it should loosen the baked on food ,also a soapy Brillo pad will help keep the bottoms of your pans clean which helps with cooking temperature by not needing as much heat to cook foods ,medium heat is what most pans require to cook foods 🥰

Hey Shyvonne. I'm so glad to see you making changes with your cleaning products. These chemicals out here are so dangerous for our health. I have always used alcohol, vinegar, baking soda, and peroxide to clean my house since I had a bad experience using some cleaners. I don't know how you use Sprayway tho. I tried it once for my patio doors and couldn't breath behind that spray. I just use alcohol and water now. Loving your home decor. The smaller tables really made a difference.

Here's a tip for cleaning pans that are not non stick. You can use it on non stick as well. For stuck on food, add about a half cup of baking soda and cover with water up to the stain. place pan on stove and boil for about 15 minutes. Let cool and then scrub with dish soap and baking powder. The pan will sparkle like new and the stains will slide right off.

For my windows 🪟 just vinegar and water 💦. Shower 🚿 Tile is mixed of Dawn Dish Soap and Vinegar.Oven Cleaner is Dawn Power Spray. I keep it simple. I appreciate your motivation cleaning work out.
