Simply because Dave & Josh played togther on 2002 album Songs for the Deaf by QOTSA, and they've always dreamed to play together again since that. They did in that fuckin' band with LED ZEPPELIN'S BASSIST, JPJ ;)

I remember buying this album when I was 15 with my weekend money that my mom used to give me at an FYE store after hearing New Fang, at that same store. I loved all of it! Listened to it all the time in the car when I first began learning how to drive. (Lol forgive my grammar)

after buying this album and listening and appraising every aspect of it for almost 3 years, i still keep coming back to it. honestly, i have never heard a collection of songs so consistently breathtaking in every single way, dave's constantly shifting time signatures and rhythms, josh's provocative lyrics and brutal guitar, the musical variety of JPJs wide instrumentation. this album has changed the way i view music, i cant wait for the next release so they can do the same all over again

That fourth spot can unofficially belong to guitarist Alain Johannes, who performs with TCV during live performances. He's a talented guitarist from an awesome band from the 90's that was called Eleven, and he did some production work on Queen of the Stone Ages' album "Songs for the Deaf."

The interesting thing about Gestalt theory is that while human beings typically look at things as a whole, this whole still completely determined and comprised of much smaller individual parts. Garbage + garbage = trash, regardless of how far back you stand. Observing the question "what is art?" would be philosophy. I can understand how you could get this confused, as the closest you've come to seeing a university was watching 'Animal House.'

Day 27 of isolation. Feels like its been Saturday for 3 days. This song comes up on some endless playlist during the night. Man, I had completely forgotten how great this album is. I wish there had been a follow up. TCV were one of the few touring bands I got off my arse to go and see. I wish I had something that good to get off my arse for right now. So much. Such a great album.

@rb304288 actually, i do listen to the blues, including those artists. and if you think "dead leaves and the dirty ground" and "fell in love with a girl" are blues, then you have not listened to much of The White Stripes earlier music. "hello operator", "death letter" (Son House cover), and "one more cup of coffee" (Bob Dylan cover) are some of my favorite tunes from them. i don't think of The White Stripes as blues in the same way that Son House, or Eric Clapton are blues, but, they are blues

@MrStrokeAce "Temple of the Dog" was published in 1990, while "Ultramega OK", Soundgarden's first album, was published in 1988, so Soundgarend had already started their activity when "Temple of the Dog" came out, moreover you can see Temple of the Dog as a supergroup composed of members from Soundgarden and Mother Love bone, whose only album "Apple" was published in 1990 too, plus Mike McCready playing guitar in the whole album and guest Eddie Vedder in "Hunger Strike"
