Hello, Adam! Randomly found your channel, enjoying it so far :) I’m only a newbie, or actually even less than that. I had to adopt a couple of pigeons who used to belong to someone else, but their owner destroyed their loft last year, so they chose my balcony as a new home themselves. And through this year they keep spawning more and more babies even now, at winter, lol. And now I have two young pigeons living in my room, because they wouldn’t survive winter outside with their parents. Not even sure what kind of pigeons they are, but I’m interested in genetics, so hopefully your channel would help me to figure it out in time. So far only got to know the cock is mostly white with only shields of nice and smooth red color - no pattern, just equally brownish red. The hen seems almost white with a few black feathers here and there, I guess that makes her grizzle black. But somehow first they had a red+white kid with lots grizzlyness all over the bird (this one sadly disappeared recently), and then one almost completely black with weird brown shade on black feathers and a bit of white on the back. The third one has this brown shade so intense it almost hides all blackness, leaving white tail and chocolate wings and head. I’m only starting to learn pigeon genetics, and kind of puzzled how’s that even possible that they’re black if ash red supposed to dominate. Even if the cock is recessive red (which I’m not sure of), the hen is not, so I suppose it shouldn’t affect their offsprings... Anyway, sorry for this mess in the comments, you don’t have to respond to that, just thinking out loud. Thanks for your videos!

I only ever had one fantail pigeon in my loft….it was a solid black one and was fine for sometime then started to kill the baby pigeons in the loft. Was not sure what was killing them until I found her in one of the nests and violently pecking the baby pigeons. Gave it away to another pigeon keeper and never got another.

I used to have a white cockbird who was amazing at trapping the racers, he'd literally push them into the trap! Then one day I found him dead on the floor with no explanation :(
