honestly that doesn't seem niche, assuming they are relatively cheap anyway. it looks like a decent all around unit with a good range / attack even if DPS isn't the highest. It also seems to fill a gap in AA coverage as a non-small arms AA unit that wont get shut down by armor on air units and seems to have some aoe so it can also deal with wasps. Having the options of coating, missile defense, and + range lets this basically fit in in any build. I could see 2 or 3 of these being added to almost every build. cant wait for it to go live

Thing is that Farseer projectiles also missiles and from what i saw they easily intercepted by just 1 AM turret. So you can't rely on it for AA/DPS needs

I've been saying that the game needs more support style units for awhile now although it does feel like the farseer might be one of those units thata just a one size fits all (at least late game given how strong range is) I cant wait for the wave of new max range gameplay we get to see now though. Gonna be a great scorpion comp unit too. Now we just need a healing aura unit

The farseer has high range and high speed, so time spent waiting is minimal but it doesn't rush ahead and die like other high speed units. With 2 shots per salvo a level 1 farseer kills a level 1 marksman in one salvo and a level 1 arclight in 2 assuming none of the missiles get intercepted. Besides, its performance against wasps seems to be pretty good aswell so it can cover your flanks without losing too much time. I don't see myself getting more than 2 techs on this and only 2 because some of them are so cheap. Might also be worth keeping at level 1 unless it manages to hit upgraded marksmen/arclights/wasps faster than other units in your roster often because it lacks offensive upgrades and can be stopped by anti missile devices. It has to be noted that i used the wiki for reference and those values might be outdated.

Having one unit capable of cutting stormcaller damage in half while also buffing all of your other units is wild. This looks like a cheap way to counter Degen Beam and Wraith push/spam as well with a 100 gold EM upgrade, or 200 gold photon.

Thanks for the video :) The range buff works on other Farseer units if they are close enough? What about Farseer vs Farseer? Can they shoot down each others rockets or its the same as with the Overlord?

Looks way better than tarantula. Has unique role. Not a strict upgrade over another unit. More ground to air is also sorely needed.

I can guess why the farseer doesn't buff air units, and it's to prevent carry wasps. 10 meters on those guys with aerial spec and it just would not be a good time. Still, i expect farseers will be a very welcome addition to the roster, just when your comfortable with your formation, you grab 1 or 2 and pop a range enhancement or a good photon emission.

Is there any upside on level up the farseer? Would be awesome if the capabilites of its skills would slightly increase. Espacilly Missile intercepter

Doesn't look like it, will just be damage and health. And it does do a good chunk of damage, so that could be worthwhile, but it's one of the units which you don't really upgrade, like melting points or steel balls or crawlers, because they do there job without levels, and don't do it much better with levels, unlike sledgehammers or fortresses or mustangs, which can do there job without levels, but do it way better with levels.

@@solarorbitz If you're adressing me, don't talk like I'm a third person. It's just dumb. Anyway, range and diffraction don't scale with levels mate. Absorption kinda does, because more health equals more time for your damage, and thus Absorption, to ramp up. To be clear I'm not saying leveled melting points or steel balls aren't better than unleveled one's, I'm saying that leveling them generally has little impact on how they perform in battle, so levelling them, esspecially beyond level 2, is a low priority. In most situations at least, I'm sure theres been 2 games where a level 3 melting point would have been able to kill 3 overlords where a level 2 one killed only 1 and a half or 2, but that's hardly the rule.
