So in this review/demo I state that the scale length of this guitar is 24.5” (which was listed as the scale length on Fender web site under “specs” and was also listed on other sites advertising this model. I have measured the guitar, and it actually measures as a 24” scale. I have noticed Fender has corrected their spec listing, but other sites may still mistakenly list the scale as 24.5”. This guitar indeed is a short scale, 24”.

The lower toggle is in your way every time you strum a chord rather than pick. The toggle location and the 12" radius are the two things that I would change.
@JimmyStewart13 жыл бұрын
@@chancemiller9340 The Classic Vibe version has the 9.5 neck radius (like my Jazzmaster) This Contemporary has the 12”, which was one of the draws for me (I like a wider/flatter neck) I didn’t notice any issue while playing with the position of the toggle...hmm...certainly didn’t feel like it was in my way....again first time playing it. Thanks for your observations Chance! 👍
@chancemiller93403 жыл бұрын
@@JimmyStewart1- You're used to bumping the toggle or dancing around it. It seemed like when it was in the bridge position, it was in your strum path at one point and you were lightly hitting it. It's just there, because the wiring is easier to do if it's placed there and Fender has been putting it there for decades. That being said, it's just not a good location for it. Having to adjust your strumming position around as you play different guitars is completely unnecessary if the toggle is just moved out of the way in the first place. I'm currently getting used to playing a Strat by strumming over anywhere from the 21st fret to the neck pickup. That same strumming motion would smack most Jazzmaster toggle switches and this Jag's toggle location. It just goes back to Leo not being a guitar player and only consulting expert guitar pickers. I broke the toggle off on my Bullet Mustang for a reason. It was in a horrible location. (My eternal gripe.)

Gorgeous looking guitar and sounds great! Squier have definitely upped their game this year. Unfortunately $449 US is close to $10,000 Canadian...ok a bit of an exaggeration but with exchange and taxes we have to add about 45% to the US price which takes this out of my affordable cheapo price range. Btw, are you a home player or do you usually play in a band? Snow up here too.
@JimmyStewart13 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Six Strings.... Yeah, I also consider this price point at the “upper region” of what I consider a “budget guitar” as well. Unfortunately, I have searched and really found no other decent alternatives for either a Jazzmaster or a Jaguar so I went the Squire route for both of those. I was going to go with the Classic Vibe 70’s model on the Jag until I saw the new Contemporary series from Fender and decided to try this. Glad I did.... So these days, more of a “home/studio” player, but had many bands over the years, recorded and released a number of albums, played a lot of studio sessions for other artists albums, and until Covid-19 devastated the live scene, was doing a lot of single acoustic set shows in recent years. Was planning on putting together a loose knit blues band last year, but that plan is currently on hold. We shall see....👍

Ha! Good eyes (or great camera work)! 🤣 I contacted Fender to ask (and inform) about the “R” being left of the logo as well. I could have a instant “one of a kind” collector’s model! Thanks for watching and commenting...much appreciated! 👍

@@jayjaded Love it!! I have not heard back from Fender yet, but pretty sure it’s just a fluke! Once I hear back, perhaps I can ask them to do another “special” Fende! 👍 I will let you know.....🤣👍

I read once that they don't allow Rs in Boston. Maybe all of Massachusetts? Confiscate 'em if you're carrying when you walk in. Or something like that.

Glad to see a fender. They must stand over them and make sure they do a quality job. Fender parts help too. No more cheap stuff for me.

I owen 12 guitars. I can not seem to want to get rid any of them. I know I,m no Brad Paisly. Should I sell some of them.

Hey Gerry…you are asking me? I have a real hard time getting rid on ANY gear, never mind guitars…😎 12 guitars are rookie numbers…🤣 When you get into the triple digits, then it may be time to discuss the possibility of “thinning the herd”…the “possibility”….keep pickin’ man…👍

Not much quack in that Jag,nice open sounding but a tad brighter than I thought it would be, I personally like the sounds of iyv mustang, you absolutely ripped on that guitar review jimmy, your playing was awesome,I'm going to order one soon, sorry to say I don't like the sound of this Jag,but It sure is pretty.

Thanks for watching and commenting 2Daze Take!! Yeah, it’s got the humbuckers in it, but I am still getting use to the tones available, especially with the coil tapping to see what I can coax out of it! Appreciate your comments on the Mustang...it’s a fun guitar to play! Thanks again for stopping in! 👍

@@JimmyStewart1 if you use the phase switch when you're in either but not both position does it invert the 2 halves of the humbucker?
@JimmyStewart13 жыл бұрын
@@camilo1455 Yes, it gives both in/out phase and coil splitting which allows for a variety of cool tones!

Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry to hear your Jag is not to your liking. I really like the pickups and the tones available on mine. Tone is truly subjective, so I can understand someone simply not liking it. I do appreciate your stopping in to the channel and sharing. 👍🎸
