It is also seriously suspected that the Original FF7 STILL HAPPENED, this is just some timeline fuckery by Sephiroth, done so he can get a second chance to kill the gang, and complete his plan. Or maybe it was the Planet, or Aerith. Its hard to say who is messing with the timeline, but the original game events STILL HAPPENED. That much is pretty much set in stone, so knowing the events of this timeline is still important.
