This man is doing important work, but we can't stop at Kemet. We have to explore all the civilizations of Africa just as much as Kemet. Too many of us wrongfully think Kemet and Nubia were the only areas where Africans excelled. There is so much that needs to be explored in West Africa, Central Africa, Southern Africa. So many wonderful traditional architectural styles in West Africa alone, yet we don't know about them. I'd love to see black architects revive Nigerian, Ghanaian and Malian architectural styles and adapt them to the 21 century.

I'm from Chicago and I'm 67 years old. I homeschooled my children mainly because of misinformation. I lived in the most wonderful part of Chicago to homeschool, which is Hyde Park. We were walking distance from The Museum of Science and Industry, The Oriental Institute, 2 large parks, Lake Michigan beach, the library, and public transportation. We seldom stayed home for school and we spent a lot of time in the Oriental Institute. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home wife and mother of 7 children. Oh, and by the way, I have a daughter and son named Cushaa and Cush. Really enjoyed this video and I'm thinking of making a monthly contribution. I just have to figure out how to do it. I'm in school. :-)

Jiji Solomon I'm a Californian and I've been told that there's an affluent neighborhood on Chicago's far south side called Washington Heights. It's said that Washington Heights has maintained a black, upper-middle class community.
@callmejorgette25407 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with Washington Heights, but I AM familiar with East and West Chatham where Jimmy Reed, George Johnson, Mahalia Jackson, Ernie Banks, and many more affluent Chicagoans lived. The neighborhood is stall like you described Washington Heights. You can go to Google and cruise the neighborhood. Go to 8452 S. Michigan and from there you can see East Chatham and if you cross the Dan Ryan going west, you will see West Chatham. Morgan Park is also affluent. Hyde Park is notable because the museums, parks, and beaches are walking distance. Oh, and I forget (don't slap me, Chicagoan...) The University of Chicago. I'll check out Washington Heights. (I used to live in California too. I lived in Windsor Hills. Los Angeles, CA)

So excellent is the presentation by the gentleman here on this video in interview with Mr. Newman. I have been a student of untaught history in this country and Europe since my student days as a work study assistant at Roosevelt University in the 1960's and was fortunate enough to have an intelligent grandmother who told me many things about black history which may never be acknowledged or taught in our public or private 'school systems'. I sincerely hope his work can have an affect upon minds young and old that have been warped by ignorance, fear of truth, and the cancerous illness of self-hate in this country and the world at large. Good show. Ancient Kemet(Egypt) is an important civilization to be studied and known by all people of black African descent around the world. It establishes the historical truth about the beginning of modern civilization in Africa, by Africans and the greatness and depth of African cultures. Jesus said that truth sets free. Kemet, the black land, also known as Egypt is the greatest African contribution to the world. Also paying hommage to and celebrating the great scientist Cheick Anta Diop who inspired and started this movement of African Renaissance and re-established the truth about Kemet, the great African past, and the origins and spread of humanity. Dr. Cheick Anta Diop is a high figure and a remarkable and competent scientist who should be studied and known in schools all over the world. Respect to our black American brothers and throughout the Americas who haven't forgotten their identity and are engaged in these important studies about the African past and reconnecting with their roots. Your brothers on the continent have not forgotten about you and salute you and your courage in representing well the big Kemetian family. Hotep!!

All, I'm sure Baba Browder appreciates everyone's comments and interest! I'm sure he'd be even more grateful if we can get everyone here to do two things: 1) At 3:30 lists Browder’s website that will take you to where you can make a donation today (KZbin doesn’t allow us to type links)! Become part of the first African American financed & participated Egyptian archeological excavation by making a tax-deductible donation to his crowdfunding campaign. 2) Utilize the power of social media by sharing this same link with all your family, friends and social media networks. HELP MAKE THIS MISSION GO VIRAL! For the last 8 yearz this excavation has been solely financed by Afrikanz-in-America! Not white folk, not the Egyptian government, Afrikan dollarz ONLY! And we can use your help!! So please share with your peoples. As Baba Browder would say, "We don't just write about history, we're making history right now!" If we get 500 people to make a $100 donation, we'd get there! Abibifahodie (Afrikan Liberation) and Ubuntu…

Kemit. Doesnt mean the land of the black people. "Kemet" (keh-MET) is the term ancient Egyptians used as the official name of their country. (Sometimes they also called it Ta-mery, or "beloved land.") Kemet translates as "Black Land", in reference to the fertile banks and fields surrounding the Nile (black from the soil). In contrast, "deshret" is the term for the "Red Land" or the desert (a modern term derived from "deshret") that surrounds the fertile "kemet". By using the term Kemet instead of Egypt, we refer to the country by the name its own people called it (Egypt is an English form of the Greek name for this land, Aegyptos, itself derived from Coptic hi(t)-ka(u)-ptah, "the house/temple of the ka of Ptah").

Not all should go, but there is a great need for us in the west to begin thinking about investing in businesses/ constrution. Manufacturing of goods. The thing is, we haven't even started here doing it here on a cooperated level. We must begin teaching our children that they are being groomed to rule, to be owners of businesses, to be the directors of their destinies (and nothing else would be acceptable). We must do what every other group of people do. They think only of themselves, FIRST. Everyone else is playing chess, while we continue to play checkers.
