I think it’s safe to say they could have about any number of characters. If any character can be any class, then the movesets, which are what would take a lot of effort to develop, will probably be tied to classes and weapon types instead of characters. That means the could technically have any number of characters

In the first trailer we see shez and byleth fused with sothis who are fighting and shez breaks byleth's silver sword, maybe shez will be able to kill byleth Is there a hope for byleth I wonder if shez is using a new creation sword that has a right hand Well that was my prediction for the game

KT usually has an elemental system, I just hope they don't have the system where every and character was associated with an 'element' that had nothing to do with the actual elemental effects and was just for a damage boost against specific enemies in the game. That part of HW was pretty dumb, especially since it'd have missions where most of the enemies didn't match the suggested element

Thankfully nothing in FEW3H has implied the WPG system being back, and adjutants losing the WPG reveal is the only change Adjutants got, having it replaced with a combo extender

I do hope that when we unlock a playable character in Three Hopes, they start off as a special class instead of all starting with the same. Hubert could start off as a Dark Mage, Petra starts off as an assassin, and Raphael starts off as a grappler.

It's actually looking like characters will start off as the "Intermediate" classes; We see that Monica (confirmed playable) is a Mage, Hubert is a Dark Mage, Dedue is an Armored Knight, & Hilda is a Brigand. Petra will likely start as a "Thief" (essentially the prerequisite class for Assassin), and Raphael a Brawler.

Here's some Headcanon. If Byleth didn't join Garreth Mach, Then Kronia would probably not need to come out of her disguise to get rid of Jeralt. Thus staying for a longer time as Monica.

I doubt they make the mistake of not having every character who was playable in 3 houses, playable here. With the class system, it would be ALOT less work for them to add a very large roster. And considering that the flagship game, Dynasty Warriors, has around 100 playable characters, it is NOT a stretch to believe the whole 3 houses cast will be available, probably exclusive to each route, having to be "unlocked" rather then recruited by bonds....As Warriors games have always had you gain characters progressively rather than all at the beginning. Because of the class system, I think we will get far more playable characters than people are expecting. Just look how carefully they handled Persona 5 strykers....Because that game series has a baked in zealous fan base, they were very careful (and respectful) of the source material, and the game ended up feeling like an "action" sequel rather then a spin off. Three houses ALSO has a very dedicated and zealous baked in fan base, so I believe this will get special treatment by the creators, like Strykers did, rather than just feel "thrown together" like other warriors titles end up.

I think saying the 3h roster is small is not really fair, i mean 28 student, plus byleth and shez, plus all the monestary faculty, plus more character that werent playable in the original like judith, holst and c.bergleiz makes up for at least like 40 characters, now if they fo for clones and many generic playstyles might be seen as not that many but odds are that there will be a lot of characters even without the ashen wolves

I mean, the thing is, in the main game you get basically all the same students, and it's only like 8 per class. Each route only got maybe one exclusive character. For a Warriors roster, it'll be better, but it's not the biggest FE roster, even with the teachers

@@lucky_crit yes and i see your point but when looking at this game as a warriors game we have to look at the other nintendo warriors we've seen. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition has 45 weapon types across 31 characters, including Ganon and Cucco. Hyrule Warriors: Legends has 43 weapon types spanning 29 characters if you include all DLC. Hyrule Warriors Wii U has 30 weapons across 21 characters (including Ganon and Cucco) including all DLC. The base game at launch had 22 weapons with 13 characters. Fire Emblem Warriors has a total of 32 playable characters, including 9 DLC characters, but many of these are clones. Assuming FeW 3h has about 45 characters puts it much higher than any of the others at base, but then again if some of these are clone movesets that does seem really fair. This is also assuming you can use all characters on the same save file. Im sorry for the very long comment but i wanted to give my perspective.

@@oscarhannerz6986 I think movesets are tied to class. It seems the lords and mc will have a unique one, and there will probably be a lot reused from the original Fire Emblem Warriors. The way I see it, there will be distinct infantry/mounted/flying classes for physical/magical/hybrid classes. So, like Armor Knights, Thieves, Paladins, Mages, Dark Knights, Bow Knights, Wyvern Riders, etc. will all be unique from each other. The first FEW had the issue of trying to make every character have a unique class with little source material, resulting in a lot of clones with representation usually limited to special/link attack animations. Three Houses, though, gives a bunch of its own classes, and characters with unique combat arts and animations. There's a lot more to pull from now, and likely some cloning, but not as much. Plus, the elements might help differentiate them.

After finally finishing Persona 5 Strikers, i have gotten a taste for this genre finally, and it's nice to see that two of my favorite games, both of which i have over 1000 hours in now, have games in this style now! Persona 5 and Three houses consumed my life for months after release, so i look forward to experiencing more of those worlds than just their base games allow...

Mu Theory is that Shez will join Garrec mahc after the Battle of Eagle And Lion, which does not have byleth. This will be the first real battle of the game, and you choose your house just like 3 houses. i think the game will probably have multiple endings depending on the house you chose but That all can lead to one Golden ending.

I’m just happy it looks like the characters will have more diversity than the last FE Warriors. I also hope monsters will have depth to them like giant bosses in Hyrule Warriors. That will keep the game play more interesting. I’m still wondering why Byleth will not be at the monastery in this game. What could cause them not to run into the house leaders? Is Byleth 100% confirmed not to be an instructor? It just weird that Shez is going to be a student but most scenes make it seems like they are at war. So could something have happened that causes a war before Byleth runs into the house leaders? Or maybe the change goes even further back in history than we thought and they are withholding that information. Well they probably will release at least 1 more trailer. I think the next trailer is going to reveal a huge plot point in the story similar to how 3 Houses revealed the time skip.

So something to note about the elements that we see characters use like Edelgard's fire or Dimitri's lightning is that FEW1 didn't have those and OTHER Warriors games did like both Hyrule Warriors games as well as Samurai Warriors. So Koei is likely taking from the games that did have element effects and add them to Three Hopes. Having played both Hyrule Warriors games and the first two Samurai Warriors games from what I can tell is that the effects of the elements vary although between the Hyrule Warriors games the elemental effects are the same. Dark in Samurai Warriors was a instant ko or at least had a chance for it whereas in the Hyrule Warriors games it made it where one enemy being constantly hit took more and more damage, water in Hyrule Warriors caused a bubble to surround the effected enemies heads and do DoT for about 10 seconds and then wear off, I don't remember what water does in Samurai Warriors as its been a while since I've played Samurai Warriors. Fire seems like it'll be the same in Three Hopes like it was in both Hyrule Warriors games as well as Samurai Warriors where when any enemy that falls to the ground near others will cause a small explosion and deal damage to those around them if there are any, giant enemies in Hyrule Warriors were immune to this effect so it'll likely be the same for the Demonic Beasts in Three Hopes. The Light elemental effect is basically darkness' opposite in Hyrule Warriors where multiple enemies hit constantly will take more damage as opposed to only one. I can't remember what the other elemental effects were off the top of my head as its been a while since I've played either Hyrule Warriors games and Samurai Warriors games.

The map phase is probably going to be like the map screen in Age of Calamity where you gave items for rewards like extra weapon combos, shops and other boosting goodies, i mean they have to cram the warrior staple of upgrade trees somehow. You can also see a back to camp option from the map phase screen. So instead of menus its wandering around camp instead.

This is very much looking to be an awesome and memorable game. Hopefully overwriting the disappointing experience I had the with the previous FEWarriors game. It's entirely possible that this game will feature both Monica and Kronya. Potentially, we will have to stop Kronya from capturing and killing the real Monica, and this time around, Monica will be able to survive as a result. That would definitely show Edelgard in a better light: if she works early on to prevent Monica's death and stop Kronya before it's too late with Jeralt too.

In other games when the protag, who was silent in the original game, returns in the sequel talks because the new MC is silent. I think Shez talking means Byleth will remain silent in the game and if Shez can hear Sothis I think Sothis will speak for Byleth. Anyways still waiting on S supports being debunked or confirmed. I could see byleth actually talking acause she/he is t the protagonist at all anymore it would be wierd to have an enemy not speak and it would give there voice actors more of a reason to be there. The reason byleth didnt talk is cause recording all the voice lines for all choices takes a long time and "makes the game less emmersive" since bywlth is meant to be a self insert hence being a silent protagonist

@@jakebaney46 I mean the whole setting is that Byleth doesnt meet the Lords who more or less fully awakened their emotions so If Byleth remains emotionally stunted then it would make sense that they would not talk, particularly if they are playable and don't have that much screentime (Like you play as them but cant Imagine there be many characters other than Jeralt to interact with). We will see but Sothis becoming their Navi would not surprise me. Also its not that they did not want to voice them because thats how silent protagonists work, look no further than Persona protags, its not like they are say VN protags who talk but dont get voiced for that reason.

1:03 Ugh. I really hope weapons don't actually break. It doesn't fit in a Warriors-style game and will just be an annoyance than anything. I mean if it's just to prevent the spamming of Weapon Arts/Spells and doesn't actually reduce your damage(or the loss of weapon equipped) then sure, that's understandable. But if I have to keep like a full inventory of weapons on every character at the cost of an absurd amount of gold JUST so I don't have to worry that my character suddenly can't attack anymore (despite this being a rapid hack n slash game) then I rather just play another Warriors game. 5:36 Regarding characters, I am almost willing to bet that some like the AW, Rhea, Jeralt, Kronya(wishful thinking) will be playable as DLC which would be unfortunate, but still welcome if it meant that they are in the end playable. Judith, Randolph, and maybe Ladislava should be playable via story progression if their models and moveset are already in the game - I remember being more than annoyed that some dlc characters in the previous games already existed in the story and thus shouldn't have been playable via paid dlc. At least Monica(/Kronya?) is a new addition and guaranteed to be in the base roster. Overall I'm excited for this and managed to preorder the limited version! I'm especially excited for the students' new designs!

Rhea not that sketchy... 1. Used the tragedy of Duscur as a smokescreen to eliminate her political opponents in Fearghus 2. Had Catherine arrest her lover Christophe Lonato and sentenced him to death 3. Hid Sitri's body in Abyss with a presumably empty casket being buried in the cemetery 4. Lied to Jeralt about the above and the circumstances of Sitri's death 5. Wanted to use Byleth is a vessel to revive Sothis even though it would very like destroy Byleth as a person 6. Lied to all of Fodlan for over a thousand years, falsifying history, establishing a religion built on lies, gave herself license to kill anyone who opposed her with no concern for due process 7. Secretly amassed a cabal of follower to whom she gave her crest to act as her most loyal agents and operators 8. Withholds technology and scientific knowledge for the purposes of bolstering the power of the Church 9. Keeps Fodlan in an isolationist xenophobic state where her concession to tolerance is having a ghetto in the sewers 10. Allowed the Kingdom to commit genocide in Duscur 11. Turns a blind eye to house Goneril engaging in slavery 12. Ignores rampant domestic abuse amongst Fodlan's nobility... see like half the cast with a Crest Anyone have anything else to add? Personally I wouldn't trust Rhea any further than I could throw her in her dragon form.

What I want to know is if this game is meant to be multiplayer which it Is does player to just sit the whole time until it comes to battle cause there's no way both will be able to play in the prep phase

I wonder what they'll call Shez/whatever we rename them. It'd be awesome if they actually called us by our custom name but alas the video game industry (except for Fallout 5 and Tomodachi Life I think with the miis with robotic voices but they say the custom names. The robot from Fallout 5 that would say the names sounded more human-like than the miis that look more human. Sadly, but impressively and just proves my point that we should have gotten more than just those two games, those two games were years ago...) doesn't know it's 2022 and think the ONLY way for us to get the characters to say our characters names would be to record our voice and 'people don't like that'...uh...use the same tactic those other games used...I know it was a lot of time for the voice actor to say all those names but I'm sure after like what 10 or so years, I'm sure there's an easier and quicker way that the consumers would also feel comfortable with. And I know that there's a lot more characters that would be saying our name but still it's 2022...and I mean it's not like I'm asking for it to be in VR (as awesome as that would be...).

To add to what will they call 'Shez', what I mean is that they would get away with not saying 'Byleth' by just calling them 'Teach' or 'Professor'. But 'Shez' is apparently another student so that wouldn't really work. Like are they just going to call us 'Friend' and 'Fellow classmate' or 'My favorite student'? 🙄

Yeah, this is a year earlier so I'm assuming it wouldn't be the wimpy professor that runs away and abandons the students. Maybe another OC. Could be interesting

@@lucky_crit Its not a year earlier. The battle between Byleth and Shez just took place a year before 3 Houses events began. The 3 house leaders didn't start at the academy until Byleth joined, so this points out instead a Byleth encountering them a year later its Shez who becomes a student instead of Byleth becoming a teacher.

I'd say there's a really good chance. Even if they are actually evil, they would make a great later game unlockable character. With Byleth in Smash and stuff I just don't see why they wouldn't

I personally would have preferred the 3h characters to be dlc for the first one because I would have LOVED to hear Hubert and Camilla's team up quotes which would definitely be hilarious because they would probably just evil laugh or something 😆

I don’t think that Aymr will show up as Edelgard’s Axe has the Crest of Seiros. Which honestly makes me think that maybe her means of fixing Fódlan is different this time around. Like, maybe Shez was an experiment with an artificial crest, thus making Larval a pseudo-Argathan-made entity and their bone sword is, like Aymr, taken from several different dragons and not just one. Or Shez has the Crest of Macuil (the only one not in FE3H) and their sword is related to him in some way.

Monica is probably Monica here, and not Kronya. Monica disappeared in 1179, Kronya replaced her in 1180. Not only that but Kronya is an Assassin, Monica is a Mage. I don't understand why people want a playable Kronya so bad, like literally who cares.

I mean, for a game with 4 story paths you really only get the same 8 students for each house and the same ability to recruit the other 16, same few teachers and monastery units, and very very few path exclusive characters. It's not the smallest roster like Echoes, but I wouldn't particularly say it's a big roster, either
