NEW Fire In The Hole Ride Vehicle Reveal | Silver Dollar City | IAAPA Expo 2023

A special presentation was held at IAAPA Expo 2023, hosted by Silver Dollar City and RMC, debuting the new ride vehicle that guests will climb aboard when the new Fire In The Hole opens up at the park.

On August 25, 2023, I rode Fire in the Hole, ALONE and in the DARK! It was the last train of the evening, as Silver Dollar City was about to close for the evening, the ride attendant called out to me and my husband, asking if we wanted to ride Fire in the Hole. I said, "Yes!" My husband said, "No, but you go ahead." So I handed my husband my bag and entered the ride. I was the only one riding, so I sat in the very back of the train. As the ride took off, I realized that I was wearing my prescription sunglasses, my husband was outside the ride with my glasses in my bag. It was VERY DARK inside the ride, so I removed my prescription sunglasses, but it was still VERY DARK, in fact, it was PITCH BLACK! I began to panic! I could hear the music and the recording of the voices, but could not see a thing! I held up my arms up in front of my face to protect my head. My husband was outside the ride with my cellphone in my bag. I was afraid that the ride would stop and I would be stuck in the dark! I was just about to call out for help, when the ride rolled to a stop. The two attendants began to apologize saying: "Ma'am, we are so sorry! The maintenance man didn't realize that there was one more train and he turned off the lights in the ride." I got off the ride and I tried to exit through the entrance, but was told I had to exit the ride through the exit. It was PITCH BLACK! I could see the light at the end of the long, pitch black tunnel, and I slowly made my way up the hill and out the exit. What an adventure! I'm sure I am the only person who has ever taken a ride at Silver Dollar City's Fire in the Hole 😮 ALONE and in the DARK!
