That’s a feather duster not aiptaisia. A bergai nudibranch will eat aiptaisia or a peppermint shrimp. Both are reef friendly.
@TheFishCorner2 жыл бұрын
I’m familiar with feather dusters since I’ve owned them, I’m also privy to nudibranch which does eat Aiptasia. They starve unless you have a large population of aiptasia. In my opinion it’s inhumane to buy nudibranch for a death sentence. No thank you.

You are very knowledgeable bud I appreciate you so what did you do for the flow and current is that why you used so much filtration?
@TheFishCorner3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud. And no circulation pumps in the nano tanks. In my opinion they are too small, the flow from the filters are enough. And as far as how much filtration I use. My rule of thumb is provide enough filtration to filter 3x the tank volume. Besides, I already had the Aquaclear 70 bought the 50. Made sense for me to use both. 🤷🏾♂️

Is it overstocked? Went to this pet store once, and this women refused to sell me a single clown fish for a 20 gallon tank because it was "too small" of a tank... and instead was encouraging me to go with shrimp & a snail.. with coral.. and no fish. Again, not being a troll or negative person, genuinely asking because in my experience, two stores have told me a small clown is not allowed in a 20 gallon tall tank :(

I think you have some of the best saltwater information videos out. You inspired me to start a 20 gallon salt talk. I think I'll start with purchase my water like you did. My question is, if I purchase live sand can I use dry rock. I don't want to risk getting any pest. What brand of live sand and beneficial bacteria can I use to jump start my take. I want to start with 2 or 3 clown fish or some Damsels. Thank you and keep up with the good information

Great vid my dude. You earned a subscriber. Looking forward to more vids in the future. I'm just learning before deciding what size tank I should get. Any recommendations? I never had a salt water tank so I don't know what size I should get..lmk 🙏 thanks
@TheFishCorner3 жыл бұрын
Right on bro. Thank you for subscribing and your feedback. As for your first saltwater tank. I would consider the stocking first. What fish do you want to keep. That will tell you what size tank you need. Then second, would you plan to upgrade if you buy a smaller tank now… if you don’t want to have multi tanks, go bigger now instead of needing it later. I always recommend a 20 gallon saltwater tank as the first tank. It’s so easy to manage, easy on the pockets and allows a decent stocking but once you get the hang of things you’re going to want to upgrade. If you know you don’t want multiple tanks, and you know you want some fish that get about 4 or 5 inches… go with a 55 gallon starter kit…. A little more expensive for everything, but definitely a beautiful display tank size. I started with a 20 gallon yrs ago and just grew my tank as my fish and confidence in my fish keeping skills grew.
@Arian_orta3 жыл бұрын
@@TheFishCorner thank you for the response it's refreshing to see you respond to your audience and your willing to help newbies like myself. I definitely made the right choice in subscribing. I'm doing my research on what fish I want to put in there and still learning about their growth, temperament, what there role will be in the tank. I'm leaning more on your idea of just having one tank and not planning to upgrade as I want this tank in my living room. I'm not worried about budget soo much as I been saving for this. I been looking at the red sea aquariums as they come with everything from what people have told me but after seeing your videos I don't know which route is cheaper. Maybe I'm asking too much information. I don't want to blow up your channel by asking a ton of questions as I'm sure your a busy person. but I would like feedback on if you think is it better to build your own tank or just buying a set up with everything for example the red sea reefer 250 54 gallon is around $1400. I gave you that price as that's what I currently have in mind to spend. (Budget) to give you a better Idea I fell in love with your 150 gallon tank which I think is next your 20 gallon. I don't necessarily want the eels in there but the fish you have in there like the fox face rabbit fish the queen angel maybe some damsel's and some clown fish. Maybe not the puffer fish. But that's the kind of tank I want.

Can you put fake plants in the salt tank and the rock you have in their what is it call?

Dude I love both of your tanks and the choice of fish you did. But can I asks a question? I am planning to get a 2 clownfish, 1 blue damsel anf a fire gobby. Is it fine to put them all at once even though your tank isn't that fully cycled? Btw, my tank is currently cycling now for a week, and I don't know if it is alright to add that many fish at once in a tnak that hasn't been fully cycled yet.... Or should I get a pair of clownfish first then next month is the gobby and damsel? Thank you very much
@JaydenAmoncio3 жыл бұрын
Btw, I really am proud of you when you saved that damsel. My fish jump once too before and I've been trying to do that to revive him, but he always ended up dying....
@TheFishCorner3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support and feedback bro! Truly appreciate it! As for your question, idk how you started your tank. When I started this 20 gallon, I bought live rock, saltwater and live sand. Which allowed me to add fish right away. I’ve never been a fan of fish less cycles, because you need ammonia to help the cycling process get started and fish waste etc to keep your beneficial bacteria alive and not crash the cycle. So I look for hardy fish that can withstand the cycling process. You’ve been cycling your tank a week, I would go ahead and add the goby first because they are the most peaceful out of all the other fish you want. And adding him last can possibly cause him to get bullied…Then in a couple weeks add your two clowns and a week after that, add your damsel.

How do you know if when your tank was good for fish?
@TheFishCorner3 жыл бұрын
Experience first and foremost. But secondly, if you set it up the exact way I did, you’ll be good. Buy your saltwater, buy your live sand... buy live rock or dead rock depending on your concerns.... but just those two out of three things will allow you to add fish as soon as the water clears up. Because live sand will leave the tank a little cloudy temporarily.

I jus set up a 50 gallon tank & I know this video is pretty old but I’m hoping you can help me as I’ve been to my LFS multiple times & been searching KZbin for hours. So I added two damsels when my ammonia & nitrate levels were low, but after acclimating the fish & them being in there for a few days I woke up to them being on the bottom of the tank & struggling to breathe. I tested my water and the ammonia was quite bit high, is that why they were struggling to breathe or was it due to lack of oxygen? the only thing I had on the tank is a filter fit for up to 55 gallon tanks, no wave maker at the time(I know those can help get oxygen in). I’ve learned you can use Prime to detoxify ammonia so now that my first damsels have died I started using that for the next fish I get, but I’m not sure if the ammonia is why they died or not.
@TOsAquatics Жыл бұрын
Also, I have the 55g filter, but should I add another filter like you have on your 20 gallon? Watching your video makes me think I should add another
